Maybe there is something in that. I'm 50 but, according to other people, don't look it. Could be genetic though. My sister doesn't look her age either and she eats about ten times a day.
BTW I think Cliff Richard has had a bit of "help" with his looks.0 -

:rotfl: Re: CR Indeed the hair, teeth & jawline look very suspect....but figure wise his hips look as slim as when he was in his 20's.:T2013...nothing..still hoping though!!0 -

Compare with Tom Jones who is about the same age. Tom has aged, imo, like good wine. In fact I think he looks better than in his younger years.0 -
I completed my 3rd week of 5:2 yesterday. I have found 450 -500 cals a day enough and now start with a boiled egg for breakfast, salad + 1 slice of prosciutto, (33 cals) for lunch followed by strawberries, then a peach or similar about 4 or 5 and then loads of veg and 100g or less of white fish baked together in the oven, no fat, under tin foil around 8.30 or 9. I tend to microwave spinach or green beans to go with as well. (My husband does this too, gets home late and although fit and not fat eats enormous amounts). I am usually too full to have more fruit.
Have no scales but think may have lost a little but primary reason is to lower blood glucose. I eat normally on other days and that's the attraction as I couldn't continue long term if I thought I couldn't eat cake or similar for years , months. In fact I am eating less (I think) on the 5 days, perhaps...CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
This is the second of two consecutive days fasting. I have just given myself the acid test by baking some bread for the rest of the week. The aroma of fresh baked bread is wafting past my nostrils . Normally by now I would be consuming great chunks dripping in melted butter...0

Does this count as 'fasting'? I was eating this way for years - ie one meal at around 7pm. And managed to get fat on it
Of course it's fasting - fasting means going without food for a prolonged period of time. However, if your eating is not controlled during your feeding period then you absolutely can get fat. Let's not forget calories from drinks, etc. Someone at work was "fasting" and chugging back full sugar coke all day :rotfl: Fasting = without calories. During my 20 hours of fasting, I drink water & green tea and nothing more.0 -
No - the word 'fast' implies an element of purpose or deliberation to going without food. In my case I was up very early for a long journey to work and lunch would be missed because I was too caught up in work/don't like sandwich shop offerings/was not organised enough to bring my own. So I wouldn't eat till evening. Not a fast per se. More lack of organisation.0

That's just semantics  fasting = abstinence from food, whether deliberate or not. So yes, you were still fasting, just not deliberately.0

You can fast and still eat, fruit fasts etc, classed as a partial fast. An absolute fast is complete abstinence from food.
