I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Perhaps those with a slug problem should stop the pellets and try and encourage hedgehogs in.0

Yes. and we could ask the fairies to help, while we're at it. Have you actually tried controlling slugs using hedgehogs?0 -

We have badgers and apparently deer, presumably muntjac. Lots of frogs but no hedgehogs. There is a dog given the turds in the back garden. And a cat. It grinned at me wide eyed when I caught it having a dump. I find it hard to imagine that a) I could encourage enough hedgehogs in and b) a hedgehog could eat the gigantic slugs I have seen on my paths.
To be honest it is all very well saying go organic, but when almost all of your plants are wiped out by slugs, and the few remaining ones are killed by rain, lack of sun and gales, organic is a no brainer, in the sense that you'd need to have no brain to go organic.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -

I am sure you know milk and bread are not good for hedgehogs. Tinned dog food is ideal. However, that can also attract rats, so I suspect hedgehogs is not a realistic alternative to slug pellets.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
Yes, put tinned dog food out, the Foxes will love it.0
