I have a pet Giant African land snail called Sydney, lovely he is. I must be honest though that slugs get pellets sprinkled everywhere and snails get slung. i like the idea of putting them in the compost bin though.0

Another vote for the compost bin here - they tend to stay put if they have greens to munch!

What am I doing about the slugs and snails this year you ask?
Mainly sobbing because they have eaten so many of my plants .... AND KILLING THEM with beer traps and squashing.
I did get in the habit of going out at night with a torch to pick them up but to be honest the amount of damage they have done i just gave up
If i see them they die, if i dont they live to eat plants i can barely look at now through the tears
:rotfl: Ant. :cool:0 -
Snails get taken up the path to the top of the garden where they are then crunched and left out for the birds.
Slugs get treated in a variety of ways, sometimes I will chop them in half with the trowel, they get salted or in the area by the water butt they get pelleted.
There are supposed to be toads in my garden but they dont eat the slugs or the snails. So any ideas on how I can get rid of toads?0 -
Slugs make great chicken food. The chickens go crazy for them.Donny. Extreme Money Saving. E$S.0

I gather them together and squash them with a brick. I dont want them to suffer but i seem to have grown all my veg for their consumption. They are so greedy. I do struggle a bit killing snails, but manage it when I notice how little i have left on my allotment0
