I think my pension should be higher, I've got bills to pay don't you know!!! How can I keep my car on the road on the pittance I get from the government! :D
  • £234.22 for the car monthly (£216.2 4 weekly). Current rates. And the motability car IS NOT FREE it is paid for under a 3 year lease and for now the OP is stuck with it under their terms. Perhaps Chrissie can think again when renewal comes up?

I know it isn't technically free:D But in another way it is free, because she could have £234 a month extra for the Sky and such instead of having it as a car;)

Blimey, we're not getting through, are we?

By Page 12, I'd have hoped the OP could have accepted why it is necessary that benefits aren't calculated according to outgoings but by income and that claimants must simply adjust their spending to the sums they are given...

It's like pulling teeth while wading through treacle, isn't it?

She doesn't want to, she made that very clear. I'm still confused as to why if it is only used for her benefit only why her daughter contributes almost 50% of the petrol costs.

Maybe because she is being nice and knows I can't afford it all, isn't that awful a member of the family doing something helpful

Which is considerably more than a lot of people have! And why did you not include all your other benefits in with it? Could it be because it would come to a lot more than £47 pw?

If you are talking about my DLA that is not taken into consideration by any government body, that money is for my care needs, things for my disibility if I were to say I use it to pay loans or HP you would be shouting that it's not the intended purpose that I'm claiming DLA and using it wrongly I am committing fraud, you can't have it both ways

Well if you are being technical, it should be used for the water bill for the amount of water you are using for cleaning soiled clothes and bedding.

If I gave up the car and had the money instead you would shout I was getting free money, if you are spouting the good old saying we, the tax payers are paying for your car, well my husband is a tax payer, my two sons are tax payers, my son in law is a tax payer and my daughter in law is a tax payer so if it makes you feel better just think that its their tax money that's used to pay for disability.
