**a Warning For People Using Tesco Vouchers!**

Just reading the paper this morning and take a look at what I happened upon. I just thought it was interesting and that I should share it with you. Sorry if someone else has mentioned it.

Thanks, that gives me a great idea. :D

To be honest what many of us are doing on here is going to man tills where vouchers are being excepted, so in a different league to what the copper did.

Interesting story though, best spread your points over several cards so not to raise the flags. Not that I have that many points.

Oh I know I weren't having a dig at people who use coupons, I myself have cupboards brimming with toiletries. I just thought it was interesting, and having read other threads it would clear up what some people think is legal or not and the fact that you obviously can get arrested for some things.

If he scanned the same voucher loads of times, what he has been doing is putting another voucher, or a piece of paper, in the slot instead of the points coupon. Sounds like it was an extra-points till-spit or one that he was sent with his vouchers.

I use (real, redeemable) coupons all the time, would feel shocked if I had to pay real money for my shopping in full now......BUT I don't use self-scan and would never condone what he did. Interesting he was charged with 'going equipped to cheat', I think this would also apply to people putting a pile of dud coupons through too (e.g. Somerfield coupons at Tesco). Be warned anyone who does!

How stupid can one person be. There's one thing being an avid points collector and making the most of the vouchers available and then there's just total greed. He deserved to be made an example of really

I always use self scan when using vouchers but like you I always use coupons that are redeemable, it makes me so angry when I read of people purposely using expired vouchers or vouchers that are ment for use at other stores as at the end of they day they're shooting themself in the foot as tesco/asda will stop the use of them in self scan and everyone else too will suffer because of it

    Unbelievable.

I have to admit to occaisionally using vouchers which are a day or two over there dates but only if there is plenty of time for them to redeem them on - I figure that if there checkout assistants take them then its their problem and I don't always check, if I'm in a hurry or behind with the packing, I just hand the lot over and say, just take the ones that are OK - 9 times out of 10 the assistants will just scan them all and return the ones that didn't scan without looking.

I do use the self-scan tills but I always check that it is OK to scan sainsbury/asda etc as I know that their rules change from time to time. I may have also occaisionally put through outdated tokens but never deliberately on the self-scan.

I would never ever ever repeatedly use the same token and put something false in the slot - how stupid is that! You could claim a mistake in other situations but that is just obvious.

Is it wrong, do you think, to buy clothes, use a token and then take back the ones that don't fit? I never try on clothes in Tesco as I rarely have time and the fitting rooms unisex, aren't actually that private and I feel uncomfortable.
BTW, I do buy and keep a lot of Tesco clothes as they are such good value for money (if a little unethical) - especially the children's clothes.
