I heard (on R4) about some research taht says that 2 days of about 600 calories per day in each week is really good for brain function in later life and may help protect against some forms of dementia. Obviously it also helps with weight loss. So I am going to give it a try. Not sure whether I will be able to stick it, but nothing lost by giving it a shot. The idea is a protein breakfast, skip lunch and then fish/chicken with loads of veg for dinner. I don't eat breakfast, so thought I would try a mushroom omelette for lunch and stir fry (with very little oil obviously) veg for dinner.
nlj1520 - there is a Horizon programme on BBC2 now about this!

its lovely when lots of people post and we have managed 3 pages today!!
my arm is slowly getting better still lots of pain but im feeling more positive. i think it could have been because i felt a mess because i havent been able to wear make up for 2 weeks or do my hair. so i have had my hair cut really short so that i can do it with my left hand. ok it still looks quite messy but i tell myself thats the cut:cool:

Actually managed to get a piece of brisket in the slow cooker with plenty of water, a packet of dried veg, some dried onions and some AF soup mix before dashing off at daft o'clock to little bear's Martial Arts' summer camp. Little bear is the youngest taking part. As far as I can tell he has declared a major charm offensive and is effectively the camp mascot.
Just remembered I need to get the brisket itself out of the microwave (cat proof) and into the fridge now.
Monnagran - little bear asked me if there were toilets in heaven. I said I didn't know, but I knew we would be comfortable. He is definitely starting Sunday School soon, so I can refer these questions on. He is five.
I have got his kit in the tumble dryer  to be ready for tomorrow, new white t-shirt is in a bowl with warm water and biotex and will be rinsed out and hung in the sunshine tomorrow to get the tomato soup out.
LameWolf - I really sympathise with that feeling. Good luck!

LW: Ah. Now I get it. It would drive me bonkers if I didn't have my own space. As it is the Rev has to get up very early and watch her recorded American Wrestling on Sunday mornings before I am about. She reckons it puts her in the right mood for preaching!
We also have one and a half freezers (the other half is a fridge) and it is packed.
I understand your predicament entirely.
Right Move and Prime Location are the ways forward.
Fingers crossed for you. Keep us posted.
Wannabe sybil: Tell Little bear that if he wants toilets in heaven there will be plenty. Everything he wants to make him happy.I believe that friends are quiet angels
