OS Daily 6 August 2012

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 4th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you goto bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

    Where is everyone this morning?
We have rain again today, joy of joys and I have a wash bin full :( Oh well I will just put it on the airers, open the windows and put the ceiling fan on, that usually helps get the stuff dry.
DH has gone off to work, DD and DS are still asleep. Ahhhhh peace.
Plans for today were a trip to the library to take some books back, but I don't think that I will bother.
So I might just have a lazy day seeing as my joints are giving me hell with this weather.

Morning BB and all who follow.

Sun here today, was quite autumnal actually with low level mist over the fields :D
It hit me yesterday that the kids will be home and I've got no plans organised for them :rotfl: H is back to work so plans are to go food shopping with kids in tow and then push vac round. Going to spend some time working out what I shall do with the kids this holiday too. DS has already been telling me what he wants to do :rotfl:

Tea will be arroz con pollo....bascially chicken, peppers, onion, garlic with rice......but the other sounds more impressive :rotfl:

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

BB hope weather dries up for you ASAP to help your joints x

Morning to the two BBs and everyone else :D

Rained last night and is again this morning - what's new? :( Got to put my new WM through it's paces today, only got 3 loads to do, easing it in gradually, you might say.

Off into town later, few bits to buy in preparation for September (underwear, etc.) and some flour and butter as I'm helping out at a community cooking event later. Apparently, I'm to impress them with my pastry-making skills! :rotfl::rotfl: What that means is that no one else can make it, which I think is scandalous, it's only shortcrust.

BB#1 - hope your joints improve, a perfect excuse to have a lazy day x
BB#2 - enjoy you shopping with kids, I hate it but got to do the same today! x

Hope everyone else has a decent day, without too much rain! :D

    A xo

    Morning all,
Sunny here today. We've had sun all weekend, seemed funny seeing the Olympic marathon in the rain:rotfl:

Had my sons' godmother over for the weekend. Went to the Old Town Carnival, then took her for dinner and watched the fireworks. Yesterday OH went home early and we went to the Old Town for lunch. Went to a fish and steak bar that is really well known here. Had Moules marinerre, gorgeous!:T

Staying in today, the weathermen say it's a mixture today, but sun and heat are coming for the weekend! YAH! Eastbourne airshow next weekend, so that will be good.

Got some ironing t:T do, and nneed to look in the freezer for dinner.

    Have a great day all.

    Morning :hello:

Both mini-trus are at work, unfortunately mr tru has a day off. Mondays usually run like clockwork for me but today will descend into chaos :D

I need to top up my chicken supplies today, their food bins are full but their first aid kit is running low. So first stop - the farm shop. I need new bras so will have to go into town, oh I hate town! I filled the fruit basket a couple of days ago, everyone has decided to be super-healthy and they've eaten it all so I'll nip to the shop for that.

My hip twanged yesterday and is much better. I was worried that not moving it all night would make it stiffen up again but it's OK this morning. My toe is OK too, it hurts a bit if I touch it but it doesn't hurt when I walk.

One more coffee, then it's up and attack the day :D

  • Good morning all,
I have woken up with an awful headache again. I may not have a headache for a little while but then i seem to get a run of them. Have taken pills so hopefully it will start to ease.
Bright here at the moment but there are dark clouds in the distance. I have so much washing to do. I have a load in the wm at the moment.
I must tackle the ironing pile today. I have been doing bits when we need them but the pile is getting bigger.
Tea tonight is pork chops with new potatoes and salad.
BB, i hope your joints ease.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

    Morning all,

Bright and sunny here, sorry for those with more rain, got my wm on and will get it on the line today.

OH and I had a lovely day stripping yesterday :D unfortunately it was just the walls, we got all of the long wall done, and 1/2 way down 2 others, will do more later on.

DD got a call yesterday to say that her dad was in hospital, one of her step brothers picked her up, and she went over there, he has been bleeding internally, they have done loads of tests, and will hopefully know a bit more today, I will run her up there again later, although him and I do not get on too well, I do wish him well.

I will go and see my dad later on, he is not doing so good either, he is still being sick, and refusing to eat, and getting more and more confused, its really hard seeing him like that.

Need to drop dd off at work this morning, then home to do my office work, then tidy through, do an online shop, see dad, then if I have time do a bit more stripping.

Ok have good days all xx
