Good morning everybody, sun is out here at the moment, but there's some really threatening clouds about.
I have some work today, have already been to the gym and on the drive home from my OH's this morning I heard (on R4) about some research taht says that 2 days of about 600 calories per day in each week is really good for brain function in later life and may help protect against some forms of dementia. Obviously it also helps with weight loss. So I am going to give it a try. Not sure whether I will be able to stick it, but nothing lost by giving it a shot. The idea is a protein breakfast, skip lunch and then fish/chicken with loads of veg for dinner. I don't eat breakfast, so thought I would try a mushroom omelette for lunch and stir fry (with very little oil obviously) veg for dinner.
Could do with dropping 2 dress sizes.
Hope things improve for all having a hard time.

    Hi all

I'm only just catching up with the thread – didn't get time to come on MSE over the weekend.:o

Pen-pin glad the python is doing OK – I always used to give my snakes a container of water large enough for them to submerge themselves in their terraria; then when they were going to shed, they could have a bath when they wanted.;) Only thing is, they often poo in the water. Also, to encourage them to eat, I use to a) move them into a special feeding tank – that way they don't think you're approaching with food every time you go near them, they learn that they've to be picked up and moved first, so you avoid them striking at your hand,;) and b) I used to warm their food with the hairdryer – it helps them “smell” it and presumably makes it more appetising than stone cold.:o It's also best if they eat their food head-end first, so that it goes down easier – ie, the food's fur stays flat, if that makes sense.:o Does the python have a name yet? My former neighbour had two Royal Pythons, named Death and Trap!:D

Tru I hate going into town, too; I try and limit the occasions, and get as many errands done as possible in one fell swoop. Good luck with buying bras – that's a nightmare for me; the last time I bought any was last year, in Belgium! Couldn't get anything in MK, but I went into a shop in Brugge and managed to find six in nice styles and colours, in my size, straight away! How's Daisy now? Is she over her infection?:o

I saw the physio-terrorist on Saturday; she's finally agreed I can have a steroid injection for my shoulder. Only thing is, they don't do the injections on Saturdays (!!!!!!??) so I have to go at 08:00 on Tuesday 14th; Mr LW has to have a fasting blood test at 07:40 that morning, so I'll go to the surgery with him, and he'll drop me at home after the injection, snaffle a couple of biscuits (I'll make some Birsay biscuits on Monday) as he won't have time to stop and make toast, and then he'll zip off to work - luckily he's on Late shift that day! I never thought I'd ever be counting down the days to an injection!!:D

Also, I want to move. I don't know if it'll be financially viable, but I'm going to do a bit of research in t'interweb and see. It'll have to be another bungalow, so a bit limited, and may well come to nothing, but if I don't try, I'll never know.:o

    Afternoon all!
Should have worked this weekend but we've all had D&V since Friday night, all except DD who hasn't been here, am wondering if it was the flea foggers and sprays, or just coincidental.
OS wise have continued the mammoth washing and ironing of everything the cat has slept on, so pretty much everything in DD and DS wardrobes as they are a favourite hidey hole!
OH back to work today, will rummage the freezer for his dinner, I still cant face food!
    RIP Iain

Move not looking too hopeful - not many bungalows on the market, and the ones within a do-able price range are not in very nice areas.:(

There's a lovely one not very far from here, loads of space, double garage, looks really nice - but I'm darned sure it's more than I can even think about affording.:(

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
