Morning everyone,
BB hope that your joints improve.
Momof2girls Wedding? What have I missed?
Redruby hugs for DD and her dad.
We got back yesterday from our holidays, we spent a week in North Wales IN THE SUNSHINE! and then a week in Ibiza (the quiet part, I am far too old for clubbing!).
I now have 2 weeks worth of washing to do and DS is off camping with some friends tomorrow so his will have to be done first.
Feel really rested.
Will have to get back to some serious meal planning and money saving as the holiday fund is now empty and needs to be refilled for next year.
Hope everyone is well, will pop back in and catch up later.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -

Morning all
Well, the evening from hell at work yesterday, the fall-out from the wedding meant I was called in early and the laundry was horrific. On the up side we were told we could help ourselves to flowers so I have a small white rose arrangement in a vase (with sparkly stones in the middle of the roses) and a huge mixed white arrangement that I have put in front of the log burner. Very nice but DD says it looks like a funeral parlour!
Got home about 11 to meet my visitors, 2 South African lads who are staying for a week. They both play the bagpipes and are here to see the world piping championships on Saturday along with other piping events in Glasgow. They have gone with DD to Edinburgh today to have a look around. One of them was a gap student at DDs school a couple of years ago and the other is his pal. Lovely chaps, very polite.
Washing to do today but it's raining again so it will go on the airers, apart from that not much happening today.
RR - hope your Dad feels better soon.
Take care. XX0 -
Good Morning All! Well we had lovely evening with a few good friends and my brother staying over for DH's birthday yesterday- even tho' DGD stomped in to shriek "Happy Birthday Grampie! Wake up! Happy Birthday!" shortly after 6.30am!!! Well I thought it was funny!
Meant to ask if anyone with daughters has solved the seemingly endless battle to get long hair brushed without tears? Seem to recall I had similar problems last time she was here! I guess until she's able to really tackle it herself the battles will be ongoing - so next question - when will she be able to do a proper job of it herself?????
Must get our bedding washed today, so hope the showers are only intermittent. Have polished mirrors etc so have at least made a start!
DGD wants me to teach her to knit....don't think she has enough patience yet!
RR - sorry to hear about your Dad.
Hope you all have a good day today!Resolution:

Morning all
Washing on the line, hubby dropped at work with his pack up, car dropped at garage for a service. Walked to DD2's & she gave me a lift home. DD2 needs a new sofa, so we've ordered a new one for ourselves & DD2 will have our old one, hubby's done a lot of overtime & it's burning a hole in his pocket!
Beemuzed, lots of conditioner after each wash, plus spray on conditioner/detangler if it's really tangled & start at the bottom, never, never try to start at the top. Also maybe she could sleep with it in 2 plaits, stop it tangling in the night. Both my DD's had long hair when they were younger, one still does & mine was to my waist until a few weeks ago.
Plans for today include moving bedroom furniture around turning my sewing room back to a bedroom, wish me luck!
Tea tonight is thai curry & rice bake.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Ruby - sorry you dad is poorly x
Bemuzzled - I used an afro comb on DD's and that helped but echo Hester's advice. Unfortunately DD had to have a very drastic haircut when she was about 13 as she came home from a week away with the school and I could do nothing with it. She went from having long hair to a bob (bit like Hester?) Actually it was the best thing to happen as no more battles.
Need some energy as gone back to bed. All the kids are still asleep so I decided I would to but feeling guilty so need to rouse myself and get dressed. Ho Hum x
Have a good day xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Good morning Butterfly Brain and all,
I'm so proud of our achievements in the Olympics. Didnt we do well? I hate sport with a passion and i havent watched any of the Olympics i must admit but i am so proud of what our tiny little island has achieved.
No sun for my little part of the world today. I guess washing can wait.
I'm waiting for my eldest son to contact me about his recent trip to the doctors to discuss further test results on his liver. I hope its good news and the damage is reversable. So many thoughts are going round in my head at the moment.
Redruby i hope your daughter is ok, she might have a very sick Father but at least she has a Mother who can support her through through her Dads illness.
Hubby and i need to have words when the time is right.... The problem is, finding the right moment when we are both in the right mood.

Hi Guys!
A little more with it today:D Nurses came after 7am:j and had an injection for pain which has kicked in well.
WM is on. DD offered:eek::eek::eek: to empty the DW, wash up the pan, wipe sides, hoover and will put the washing out once done. Then she came upstairs and wiped woodwork and hoovered:eek::eek::eek:....WTH is going on:rotfl:
OH is at Physio as his shoulder has been playing up. We've gone private for an instant appointment but will get half the £40 back, so not too bad. He's been up since 4am working, but he's done for today now and he wants to touch up the painting in lounge and hallway this afternoon along with some of the windows.
Might sit out in the garden later with a coffee if I can manage it and the weather stays okay.
OH made a lovely light wheat/gluten/dairy free Victoria Sponge cake yesterday and it was 6oz of wheat free flour, goats butter, sugar and 2 eggs, then jam for the middle. It was so light! Here is a pic:
Think it'll be a salad for lunch and maybe bacon and eggs for dinner?
Have a good day all.
