I got told once a potato is good cos it absorbs lots of the flavours - you put big ish chunks in then fish them out later on when they are cooked, if you can leave it overnight even better, then you can use them for something else later on xxTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

I wouldn't worry you won't be able taste the flavour when its mixed in with the spices, it will just sweeten it a bit and make it more creamy. It's not much different than adding sultanas or apple. You could always add a drop of milk as well if you need to.0

Agree with the sugar, I find raita less effective but maybe that's because I chop a green chilli into mine.
A glass of wine / beer / milk served with should do the trick, alcohol and fat both dissolve the chillie's heat whereas water doesn't.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I have used a jar of rogan josh to make a chicken curry tonight. It will be too spicy for DD and DH so I need something to cool the spice a bit. I normally add some basic curry sauce and coconut milk to do this. However we have been using up stuff from fridge and store cupboard this month and have no more co!!!! milk. Could I use some marscapone???? as I have some in the fridge, or what about adding some tin tomatos to reduce the heat. Any suggestions thanks. Really don't want to go out to buy anything.0

Tablespoon of sugar
or
a tin of tomatoes
or
natural yoghurt
all help take the heat off a curry

If the curry is much too spicy then I think the tin of tomatoes will be your best bet - you'll be diluting the spice in a larger quantity of sauce so it should really help. If it's only a little bit too hot then, like wssla00, I would recommend natural yoghurt - if you don't have any then the mascapone should work, although I've never tried it so I don't know how much you'd need.

Rogan Josh isn't a 'hot' curry !
If that's too spicy for your family you'd be better off making a chicken casserole and just stirring the curry sauce into your portion !Gus.0
