I will just have to get jobs that avoid writing without a computer that is all.

From letters that I see from various organisations, I don't think you have so much to worry about there, Phil!
  • Phil - your problem is procrastination - just get out there and do something instead of sitting listing every little thing that can go wrong.

Don't just put your toe in the water - jump in!

I think if I go for the right business function that does not involve much writing and with a friendly co- worker to proof read my work then I will be ok.

Yes, but that is because I fear failure so I put things off.

But I have lots of openings now.

And if none of them come off I can always try temping after my degree to build up a bit more experience.

  • I cannot see how they will allow you to temp with no experience!

They wouldn't allow me on a temping agency and I have my RSA 1, 2 and 3 and a wpm speed of 60! For typing that is.

I am fully computer literate and write websites as a hobby.

Oh and I have two degrees and a masters, plus all sorts of other qualifications!

There have been many people here and on your other threads that have given you a lot of good constructive advice, and to be honest you just do not take it, you always make an excuse and throw it back in their faces. One minute you make out that you have the qualifications (once saying you may be over qualified) to get a top job/career, and next post you say that you might not be able to manage, that you are afraid of failure!!

If you are that bad at spelling, how have you managed throughout your degree course, and don't tell me that it is because you have done all your coursework etc by computer - it will have shown in your exams. I am not sure whether you are actually doing a degree, and if you are, shouldn't you be hard at it studying for your finals. Perhaps if you have a problem with spelling, rather than go on about taking up another degree course with OU in 2008 (this from someone who hasn't completed the current one) you should do a course in spelling.

I have seen some of your threads going back to August 2006 where you have been on about seeking employment and about the disabled not getting a fair go - you are obssessed with your disability and seem to be looking for attention or pity or something?! There are many here who have tried to help and support you who are also disabled (me included) who do not make a big issue of our disabilities - we do not focus on what we can't do but concentrate on things we can do, oh yes ... and get on with it.

Yes we all encounter problems, but we deal with them the best we can, and ofcourse sometimes we get some help (many here are very good at giving good advice and support) to manage. In life we all get set backs whether you are able or disabled - I have had knock backs before I had a disability and after. On the job front in the past I have been rejected without the disbility I have now.

Say you get rejected when applying for a job, it doesn't mean that the reason for that is because of your disability, although I have a feeling you would probably say it was - the reason I think that is because I feel you would need someone to blame. I know this is a bit long but you are really not listening to anyone!!

Why do you think I have done poorly at some of my university exams because I can not spell well enough.
I know why I have not got jobs in the past and it is mainly my lack of experience and going for jobs that don't fit my skills. Some of the jobs I have applied for require only GCSEs so I am over qualified in that sense, but that does not mean I do not have weaknesses in my skills.

What do you call apply for 6 jobs? I do not call that not doing anything and not listening.

  • Phil - get real - applying for six jobs is nothing!
