When to declare a disability?

Many moons ago on another of your threads, I posted a link for you to a national charity that has a graduate trainee programme for people with disabilities. Did you ever do anything about applying for that?0

When you go to an agency -
** take ID with you (eg passport)
** take note of a couple of referees
** take a CV
** be prepared to be tested on your use of MS applications if you are seeking office work
** don't expect work immediately (it can vary - couple of years ago I went into an agency at about 5 pm on a Thursday and had work to start Friday morning but that is unlikely now)
** Brook Street are supposed to see you if you just drop into a branch, others may well want you to make an appointment0 -

Scope is a good scheme but to stand any chance with it you need to be open on location and really I want to stay in my local area the moment, so that is why I did not apply.:beer:0 -

Well, Phil, I don't know what to say about that. I've looked at the information on that scheme and I can find nothing that suggests that "to stand any chance with it you need to be open on location". Indeed, they have an assessment centre for it held in the north and several of their partner employers will have job opportunities local to you!
If I were a cynical Fleago, which of course I'm not, I might suppose you took one look at the application form and fled in horror at the question that said "give an example of something that you achieved which needed self motivation".
Honestly, you really are your own worst enemy, Phil.

I can think of many things I have done that needed self motivation. To stand the best chances you do need to open on location.
To be honest I am frightened of assessment centres as they look into your deepest skills and test you which would highlight my huge weaknesses in spelling and things like that.:beer:0 -
The deadline is the 30th March for Scope so if I write it quick tomorrow then email it in before friday.:beer:0

How on earth are you going to cope when that comes to light in a job? You can't hide it for the rest of your life.I am not stubborn. I am merely correct.0 -

Considering most things have to be word processed nowadays it won't be an issue but in a test you have no tools to overcome it. Lots of other people have full lives without good spelling.:beer:0 -
Word processing doesn't prevent spelling errors!
Examples:
Word spellchecker/dictionary doesn't even know how to spell liaise unless you teach it.
It doesn't know whether you mean personnel or personal - though some checkers ask you whether you have the right word!0 -

Yes, true, but spelling is my weakness just as some people can not do Maths.:beer:0
