Not disappeared into hospital. D came round and we have had a full apology from the nursing team. The plan is all much clearer now and I have the option to change to a female psychiatrist if Thursday's meeting doesn't go well.
I don't like dr D. I tend not to do so well with male professionals interfering with my life. His first options in April were lithium, in july ECT and in August hospital. That's way up the scale of unacceptable to me in the state and the first two are totally never ever going to be part of my treatment
We have spent the day totally reorganising the flat and we have an audited store cupboard and a list for a cash and carry...... Or lots of deal shopping. We have decluttered and sorted almost everything and moved furniture so that when we do have to pay for the spare bedroom I can now use it as a crafting and sewing room.
We are thinking about DH doing a mobile bicycle repair workshop. His first uk driving lesson was yesterday and as we knew he can drive, he just need to learn to pass his test. So after the next couple of lessons we will be able to afford to insure him as a learner in snopake, my car. My cars always have names.....And are mystical girls. My last car, a jeep was dragonfly....
So we are now beginning to adjust to being a married couple and arranging our home to suit. We moved in in November last year, and DH works in a well know charity furniture shop, most of our furniture came that way or from freegle. We had saved to the carpets and Lino throughout. We have wooden floorboards that move and the slopes drunkenly. All the furniture needs little pads of extra carpet or Lino to be level....
We are gradually upgrading some things and thinking about a flat screen tv... Should we play to type and have a 52 inch in our huge, high ceilinged lounge? Maybe if we are on benefit we just have to have the biggest telly we can get.... The idea makes me laugh... But I am tempted
I a, happy to have a virtual share of a horse, and a classic car.... That's what friends are for.
Winding down for bed and pottering. Nice film on stv. Kind of philosophical and good music. because the night belongs to lovers...mmmmm Patti Smith
Shades of my youth
Catch you in the morning with fresh bread hopefully

posted earlier on another board
anyone think its harsh?
Oh dear, poor you !
number of pragmatic suggestions that you can rationalise away, but everyone in here talking with you knows EXACTLY where you are and how you feel and how easy it is to stay negative, depressed and resistant to change. Well done you for keeping it up!
If you really do exhibit the characteristics you describe then maybe you have bipolar - the sleep pattern and bouts of hypermania and your style and content of writing suggest that you have a tendency to mood swings in both directions.
Should that be the case, and you can easily research online, there are good diagnostic quizzes, then that means you have a severe and enduring mental health issue - maybe present to your gp as grandiose, verbose and argumentative, having stayed up a long time and got into debt..... that should at least provoke an assessment.
Maybe you could take yourself to A and E in the same state, they could even section you if you play it right. You would then have no personal responsibility and rest assured they would medicate you on a whim. Average stay for assessment (section 2 in England and Wales) is 28 days, then if they find you do have a mental health disorder they can section you for up to 6 months. And there is no point in protesting whilst detained - thats a manifestation of your disorder.
still you would then be entitled to DLA and whatever the benefits were then, which is just as well because you would have to try and pick up your life maybe 7 months along the line.
ALTERNATIVELY:
You could ask about tri-cyclic anti depressants, they are older than SSRI's which is what citalopram is. They act differently on the brain and some people tolerate them better. They do take about a week to kick in, and you can get mild, very non life threatening, kind of make you feel weird side effects, but they go away and then your mood starts to lift.
well mine did
You could get a self help book, there are enough on depression
You could look at recovery sites
http://www.mentalhealthrecovery.com/about/
is a good starting point
you could set a small goal every day and post it here we can cheer you on
you could do somethign nice for yourself and tell us about it
you could take yourself and your life and your health seriously
you could start to recover
you could ask for help and accept it
peace be

As for Nicky's post - I don't understand the context but there is some sound advice there.
I also have Bipolar (1) and I advocate taking care of yourself as much as you can through exercise, good diet and interaction with others. Here dead we lie because we did not choose

I think you do have to ask permission to fit a shower, even though ultimately, the ha will benefit. :rotfl:I'm pretty sure a shower is cheaper than a bath. You only have to take one look at my gas bill.
Dya know, it takes alot of courage to keep a diary and openly state you are on benefits. I don't care what anyone thinks anymore, tbh. It is, as it is.
Back laters xx
It's an honest and open thread and echos what for many is life in 21st century UK and what you say is true Ani26...
And many who have never had to try for or use the system will need to quite soon and are in for a shock...it is not as they believe when they see and what the media reports..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

It P***es me off that ANYONE has the right to judge me because I am currently reliant on the state. We may be better off than some working households, but we are on a quarter of what we were on till working precipitated another catastrophic episode.
This is MY diary, I expect visitors to be supportive, thats the rules of this board.... anyone with an opinion or prejudice against people on benefit has ample places to express their bile elsewhere on this site. OOPs that was a bit strident :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Thanks for joining in....

People can disagree and discuss but should not attack...what's that saying about walking a mile in someone's shoes?"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

another night wide awake, but very organised home....
DH on training today - so going to wake him up to a bath and breakfast soon0 -
Some will say you must not sleep for hours, others will say you should not stay up all night. You find your way to deal with the situation that you find yourself, when things settle down you do "Normal" whatever that is.
For many night time is the worst part of the 24 hours. The early hours can be scarey, where you feel most vulnerable and alone...
You have problems with your Dr...we had problems with the Social Worker/District Nurse that were assigned to us when Mum became ill and yet our last few months together could be so less stressful had they listene to us...often they have a set routine and will they change it? Will they h***!
They try to make you feel as though there is something wrong with you. And what you have linked to...worries me and many others...

I have followed kaliya and sue for a while and love that blog. Thank you for linking it to my diary. I want to gradually link to blogs and sites that are useful to me and it's great that my visitors share.
I have decided to let this sleep thing play itself out this time. I am having quiet time in the lounge waiting for it to be time to wake DH up
