Hi Recovery, met you earlier on the make do and mend for tougher times thread.

Well done on starting your diary......its a good way to really face your finances head on.

I don't suffer from Bi-polar but have had very, very bad depression so I fully understand how you feel then.

I live mainly in my Kingdom of Bed due to it being the best place for me most of the time, but am glad when I can take a break from it.

    Good Luck with your plans......

    Hugs

Wow just been reading up on the bedroom tax, that sounds pretty grim. I am sure there are tax dodgers that would net them far more than what they will save in housing benefit:mad:

Don't know much about bi polar. Must be very hard to balance the medication etc to get an 'average' feeling.

However there have been other bi polar people on the boards before, and someone suggested that you can have a notation put on your credit file, asking for additional credit checks to be done due to your medical condition. Not sure how you word it though, maybe your local CAB might be able to help?
    good luck

Thank you for coming by... I have recently been having some issues with my "normal", with my mood swinging up towards elation and excitement ...... It's hard to manage the transition from down to normal And this time round the mental services have not been much helpful. However...

Regarding the bank.... Apart from O2 which I accept I owe money to, well I accept most of it. My only other debt is to the bank I was with for 20+ years. They were made well aware, I had been acutely I'll before and spent more of their money. I was unwell when they extended my over draft and I have beware bipolar all over their files. I feel that they were pretty predatory in their relationship with me.

Debt and bipolar are big problems... In my most expensive mania I ended up losing my house, down the line to settle debts, but I didn't have MSE then and I didn't know what I know now.

The big event today is that D comes round. She is the clinician from my mental health team. We are just getting to know each other and build a relationship. Last week there was a bit of a !!!! up in communication, DH asked for some support over the weekend, and D came back and said I should admit myself to the psych hospital!

Hopefully this will get sorted out today. I have a plan, it's called a WRAP plan and it is supposed to be followed by me, DH and CMHT to keep me well. There will be more about wrap

http://www.mentalhealthrecovery.com/ later, but this is a good introduction

Must get ready for D, it's time to be up and look lively

    cut down on cleaning products.

I use an old spray bottle and use distilled (white) vinegar, star drops and water.

I clean bathroom and kitchen with that.

Decant value disinfectant into an old spray bottle as well, makes that go further.

Poached from another board... but going to implement

adding them spray bottles to a list...

    List in spending diary

    Spending since diary started:

£7.38 picnic from asda for beach
    £2.00 t-shirt for gd1
£10.00 aussie shampoo 3 for £10.00 now not going to buy any toiletries
    £3.00 t-shirt for gd2

    £22.38

Thats about right - I have a notional £10.00 a day to spend on guff
and all the scrub in my purse.... so thats not bad for two days....

You really get fed up of it all, especially when you are sitting on the wrong side of the fence. Someone said to me today, it's overwhelming. A word which seems to be frequently used when addressing me. Overwhelmed. Strange how they all use the same word.

ps - i hope you haven't disappeared into hospital. I sometimes wonder if that's the best place for me. Another total escape from it all, (plus i'd definitely get dla.)

I am thinking about starting to do that, basically when i worked before there was no way i could have been identified with my writings, much of it was about my work and anyway eventually i ended up in big trouble for posting about work. I have a number of alter egos that frequent forums and discussion groups and all my blogs are set to private or a very close group of friends. I do like collaborative writing, and I am fascinated by the role of internet forums in support and education.

I think that the depressed me has no confidence and nothing much to say that isnt deeply cynical and well, depressing, the manic me thinks everything I bloody do is genius .... hard to get a true gauge, or very much consistency.... but yeah its an option.

I follow Piquant's diary and I believe she has had some success with paid writing, mind you her diary is excellently written AND she has a horse... I am deeply jealous of her.

I guess when i think about doing paid work i should consider that...thanks

I too have a number of alias' for writing. All I can advise, is carry on writing if you enjoy it, but forget about writing about work, can be a bit risky unless you're Dilbert.

I write quite a few reviews for practice, and writing on the forums is a good warmup too. There are plenty of sites offering money for blog articles. You have to weigh up whether it's worth it or not though as there is often a lot of research involved for very little return.

I cannot get you a horse, however, you're welcome to a virtual share in mine! As you know, he has attitude in bucket-loads and has a tendency to stand in ditches whilst having a tantrum. He's also always covered in mud and twigs.....but he is lovely! I'll let you know when the online magazine publishes his diaries.
