True... thing is the weight itself doesn't bother me because although I'm 13 stone I'm tall with it so and am not massive by any means.. the thing that bothers me more is that I'm not toned anymore like i was before I had kids. I've got a vile saggy belly and big bum and thighs so think I'm going to concentrate on that rather than the actual weight loss..

I'm also tall, and I'm not really bothered about the numbers on the scales.

I want to feel better, both about myself and in myself. The old joints are starting to hurt, my knees especially

I'd have problems using the "baby fat" excuse...

  • Well I seem to have got myself back on track this weekend - been to the gym both days and done a mix of weights and cardio (and have the aches to prove it - 3 weeks away and feeling it!). Also eaten really healthily and not touched any alcohol!

Got up the courage to weigh myself at the gym and found I had only put on 4lbs which was a bit of a miracle (was probably more but had a few good days before daring to get weighed). Please can you add me back on the list and my gain.

This means that as I have lost a stone since Christmas and gained 4 lbs I am still 10 lbs lighter than at the end of last year. I am aiming to lose those 4 lbs in the next 2 weeks, and then stick at it to lose another stone before the summer.

Good luck everyone with their weigh-ins.

ooo :j I logged back on expecting no replies. It will be great supporting each other

Well done to those who have already lost some :T

I'm going to start tomorrow :T at the moment I don't do any exercise, so will start walking the dogs from tomorrow, the poor things will be in shock getting a walk in the daytime. Our local gym is just opening one of those women only rooms like curves will look into that when it opens also.

I'm going to get the Ian Marber book out of the library as it looked good on richard and judy. Anyone tried this one? Hubby wants to lose some too so I want to do something we can all eat, not have to be preparing different meals.

Like PAP I want to lose it slowly as a few years ago I lost 6 stone and got to a size 12 and put it all back on again :wall: it has to be forever this time.

Good luck to everyone and thanks for joining in

  • I'm in, the last few years I've spent my whole summer in bikinis but sadly this year I haven't had that extreme motivation (and by God, it's the best motivation I've ever had to diet) - I'm going to need all of you to hold me back from the chocolate when finals roll around in a few weeks though!!
