i am in two minds whether to cancel my membership to bl**dy freecycle. at 12, i picked from the hat for 4 items listed, emailed lucky people, one person has sent back that she didn't just want 1 item, she wants all of them (she did send an email for each one), and isn't prepared to travel to collect for less than all of them. i'm sure its in secret writing that magically appears on my posts to mess me about,
am i wrong to be mad. i'm not giving her them all though, she can get stood on. but i've half a mind to keep a list of people who mess me about and post it to the board. thank you for the space to rant. (and sorry, i seem to be ranting lots at the moment. )

No you aren't wrong to be mad, I'd be furious. It's amazing how people can be when they are being given items. I'd simply say that this was fine with me, I'll give my item to someone more deserving - They can't really be in need of the item if they aren't willing to collect just that can they?!

I'd keep a list of people, and the messages sent - I've just started to since yesterday's madness, but I've done it not to post on the board, but instead to keep for myself and should they contact me again they'll have no chance whatsoever. (I will be passing on my list to friends and family using the same group however).

I have to say though, I've found an upside in all this rudeness (as mad as that sounds), the other really good freecycler's that have dealt with this are really nice and supportive when you mention it, and it seems to make us (least on my group) a lot nicer to one another - it doesn't get rid of the rude ones, but it's something!

In the last couple of days, I've met a couple of people who were really pleased with items I'd given - I told both of them that I'd picked them due to their pleasant and polite emails, having ignored the 'I want, I'll take' brigade.
Last night I was lucky to be picked for an item I'd requested - and she said much the same to me, and that she'd binned all the grabbing emails! Just off to collect it - taking a small thank you (some flowers) as I'm so thrilled to have got the item.

primark currently get the latest fashion from the catwalk to the store in six weeks at a fraction of the cost. £4 jeans cover your bum as well as £40 jeans.
I stuck 3 items on yesterday, someone only wanted one item but said they would take the others away if I wanted/needed them to.
Someone else wanted the other two anyway and said they will stick them back on freecycle when they have finished with them.
Had a few short messages that got deleted, along with the 'serial takers' who have applied for every item I have posted, but nice, friendly people get my stuff again.
