I've just had to warn a freecycler coming to collect this evening that I may not get to the door before my housemates do (It's as though they are sat at the door waiting for ANYONE to ring the bell!), last freecycler ended up faced with two of my housemates and one of their mates "cooking" - well, throwing stuff on the floor and setting fire to things, and another just telling them how stupid they were. yeah, definatley warn people.
i warn people that if one of the kids opens the door, tell them to come and get me, and be firm, my eldest stood on doorstep speaking french to some poor woman who had come for something, and she was just about to give up and go when i caught him, and had to apologise and explain my kids aren't run of the mill.
not had a response from the other person yet. hoping they have taken the hint, lol.

I've decided it's a good plan, especially as I just heard the clattering of kitchen appliences. Oh god I hope they don't set the smoke alarms off again, I think they unnerved the guy that came last week to pick something up!

Haha, with any luck they're feeling suitably sorry they tried it on and lost out at this point!

I think I'll need it! If they do it again I'm putting them on freecycle, I'm sure someone will want them, they're rather tall guys, could be useful for painting and decorating!

I'll even give them away to the rude repliers! :rotfl:

Why has it taken me so long to find this thread? I joined Freecycle in January and I've not dared to laugh out loud at some of the things I've seen because I thought it was all very worthy and taken dead seriously.

some people do take it very seriously, and it is a worthy idea, but we are just around to poke fun at the greedy and the mickey takers.

Welcome - you'll soon become addicted and have to say out loud 'my name's snitterling and I'm a freecycle thread junkie'
Freecycle is worthy, but we do take the mickey out of the rude ones who post shopping lists, the 'I want/I'll take/I'll have/gimme your address' brigade. And we have a titter at some of the funny wanteds and offereds.
