I have had mostly good results from my Freecycle groups. I have one main one and two others I lurk on because are areas I have relatives in these areas .

One of these groups has a policy that if you want to ask for something you have to offer something which I think is very fair. This area has a high student and NHS emplyment area so a lot of people on it dont have a high income and basically just live in one room so thye dont have housefulls of stuff to offer but there are a few adverts where someone offers just a magazine or their jam jar collection but at least they are offering.

If I get replies to anything I offer I always check to see what that person has offered to the group before to make sure thye are not just a taker. I also dont give to the first person that replies but wait and see who replies with the best reason for wanting the item.

Mostly though Freecyle has been a godsend.

When I was clearing my m-i-ls house she had three bathrooms of various toiletries, mostly part full bottles and I also sorted our bathroom out so I ended up with three huge carrier bags of assorted toiletries and someone from freecycle with three grandaughters collected these from me.

Also our old garden parasol was ripped and had a piece missing but someone collected this at the weekend. They are an engineer so it has been fixed and with some sewing skills it is usable again. I even got a photo from them this morning showing it in use again - far better than being landfill

Offer: Dell Laptop
Offered is a 1 year old dell laptop, 15" widescreen, wifi, dvd re-writer. Nothing wrong with it, just upgraded.
