Still here. Still reading your cretinous, puerile posts.

At least I run checks on my posts

yep i'm off too, some of the posts have become personal attacks on wanted that are genuinely people in need, not just the extreme asking for that this thread was first about.
i'd like to say thanks to you all though, esp pam, morty007, judderman, and bones 61. you have kept me cheered up through dull miserable days lately.
keep freecycling everyone, for all the right reasons,

    lots of love

If it would be cheaper to have a washing machine repaired why buy a new one?
I can just imagine that they had an engineer out to give an estimate on the repair. When hearing how much it was going to cost they decided a new one would be a better option. It’s supposed to be Freecycle if its going to cost a fortune to get a broken Item fixed why offer it on Freecycle

maybe because someone with the knowledge can fix it much cheaper than there engineer can, and would be grateful for the chance to try. i've had broken things off freecycle and fixed them up, nothing as technical as a washing machine, i'll admit, maybe cost me a few pence to a couple of quid, but the idea isn't the "free" part, its really down to the keeping it out of landfill site. the "broken" machine is being offered "free" but needs work. if we landfilled everything that was broke, we'd disappear under it quick enough. plus didnt the offerer say that its ok if you watched it to stop it overflowing or something? so technically it still works.

(edited to add i'm so excited i'm the 1000th post in a thread. yes i know i'm sad.

has the time come for this thread to slip away?
as has been said, the fun factor seems to have faded.

we've had a go at the greedy, the stupid and the rude.
the lack of manners of some people has been done time and time again.

thanks to all for the fun and laughs, and good luck with your offered and wanted

ah see the temptation will always be there ;) , there'll be a post that you just have to share :D

I'm just arranging the collection of the item I offered - had arranged for the young lady to collect this PM but the rang to say something had come up and could we change the time. No problems with that so going to call her tomorrow to re-arrange.
