It is not what has been offered that is funny, but the cheek of the people that is asking for them.
I have had lots of stuff off freecycle but I don't have the cheek to ask for luxury items

I used to like this thread, but some posts are just getting silly. Taking the micky out of things that just aren't funny, aceyjill you seem to have a huge chip on your shoulder about people asking for anything, I would suggest freecycle is not for you.
Yes some things asked for are funny, walking sticks for dancing, display racks, washing machines being offered when they are broken are not.

Can you please tell me what you have posted is a luxury item?

Well I see a young couple moving into a new flat, asking for help setting up home, asking for the things they need. You obviously see freeloaders who have loads of money getting stuff for free.
I don't know who is right, but I know who's attitude I would prefer.

They haven't even got a pc fgs.

    Hi everyone,

This was the best washing machine I ever had, but
unfortunately it has started to over-fill and now has
to be watched, which I haven't the time for.
The timer on the Dryer sometimes plays up as well.

I am sure someone in the know could fix it, or just
use it as a Tumble Dryer.

It is a 'Hoover saver', has a 1600 spin and is 'A'
classed, so an excellent machine (more than £400 4yrs
    ago)

This is now in my garden, covered, and really must go
    this
weekend, or it's off to the tip.

I have tried locally, but this really is urgent!
So it would cost more to get it fixed than it is worth?
Do you actually remember what freecycle is for? To stop stuff going into landfill............
This bloke is polite, gives good information and you take the p1ss, because he can't fix his own washing machine, but wants to give it to someone who could fix it.
For me this is the essance of freecycle.

Hmm, I have been managing to ignore some of the posts that beer is talking about but they are coming thick and fast now. I'm out of here.

Mr Squiddy, enjoy! I had a little look back at your previous posts to reassure myself that it was just this thread you didn't like and that actually you were probably quite helpful/useful on other threads but found I couldn't... Most of them are sarcastic, nit picking and rude and it appears you look down on just about everyone else. You also appear to have few social skills, as demonstrated here.

Jman, i'll see you on the other side, we can continue this over there.

Bones, yell when you finally manage to move, good luck.

Pam and 16011996, see you around, it's been fun(ny!)

    Everyone else, Keep on freecycling...fairly!

And those of you who never got this thread in the first place (We now who you are but it's unlikely you can admit it!) or can't be bothered to read the whole thread for an explanation of what the thread was about, go away and find some other thread to ruin. Plenty of trolls out there you could be bumping.

    See ya!

All the best! This thread used to be fun - I've no problem poking a bit of fun at the 'greedy wanters' but sadly its degenerated into some very unpleasant personal attacks. I'm outta here too.

With almost 1000 replies and over 21,600 views some of us are enjoying the posts here.
If it would be cheaper to have a washing machine repaired why buy a new one?
I can just imagine that they had an engineer out to give an estimate on the repair. When hearing how much it was going to cost they decided a new one would be a better option. It’s supposed to be Freecycle if its going to cost a fortune to get a broken Item fixed why offer it on Freecycle
