People who are so engrossed in their shopping that they whack my children with their trolley or their basket.

In one supermarket near us mine are the awful children in the trolley, but my eldest although 9 is petite and in the past year she's been knocked over twice by idiot adults not paying attention with their trolley. I think it's something to do with the business park nearby because the people tend to be in suits and in a rush. The last whack to the head (resulting in a cut) with a basket by someone means tbh I don't give a monkeys who doesn't like it - she can sit in the trolley if she wants until she's a bit bigger. The two small ones are in the seat. I don't have any choice but to take them with me. I don't online shop must since Asda decided that full-fat normal milk was an adequate substitution for soya milk amongst other stuff.

People who allow their children to run wild.
People who push past you to get something from a shelf when you are about to pick something up.
The person in front of me in the queue because they always, without fail, have something that won't blimming scan. Every time :rotfl:
The fact that the queue I was going to pick, but didn't always goes faster.

I can't wait to say 'Excuse me, I'd like to look at the whoopsies' next time someone is in the way. I like that!

This is why I go shopping after 7. Nice and quiet with no one to bother me.

Lots of my pet hates already mentioned here.

HOWEVER, one that hasn't come up yet is this: I despise going to the supermarket only to find that no matter what time of day (lunchtime...evening...you name it, this happens) I've picked, the aisles are cluttered with crates and trolleys and whatever else, and surly staff stacking the shelves at a snail's pace with no consideration of the fact that they might be in shoppers' way (and I call one of those massive trolleys being stuck right in the middle of the aisle "being in the way").

Drives me batty and unfortunately this is the closest supermarket by walking distance and I don't drive. Boo hiss.

My pet hate round supermarkets is when parents open food (that's not even been paid for) and the child eats it on the way round the supermarkets.

If they have a child that is playing up screaming then I don't see the harm it keeps the child quiet, parent less stressed & other shoppers can shop in peace..everyone happy.

I've done this with my child who is ASD, problem is some people may judge but I guess that's their problem & yes I ALWAYS pay for the packet of sweets.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I am afraid i dislike peopl incUding children eating in the shop too. More annoying was the time i pointed out to the mother of a child and deli assistant serving her, kindly and with a smile, that the vhilds haribo was now dspersed pretty evenly amoung the self service deli items to the side of the deli counter. The deli assisteant proceed to remove the haribo and then put the tubs bag out. Yuk....

My pet hate is people walking around eating things before they buy them.

    You cannot be that hungry!

I'm afraid I'm currently one of them. I'm suffering with terrible morning sickness, and sometimes when we go shopping I have the choice between eating/drinking something NOW and being sick all over the floor. I'm sure I know which you'd rather be frowning at me for ;)

I'm getting better, and can sometimes cope with just the mints I keep permanently in my bag, but sometimes more is needed.
