    DD I used are

    Paypal

I asked our electricity and gas supplier, SWALEC to put a DD for electricity and a another direct debit for gas onto my account(s), they already have them set up for my partner on her vantage account. In swapping them to me, it does not look like they have closed the DD on her accounts (from Lloyds account view).....So we could take a chance and just leave them on her accounts as her active DD even though we asked SWALEC to swap it to my account. However, we will be phoning them back anyway and asking them to take £50% from me and £50% from her for both gas and electricity so we will hopefully get 4 active DD in this way.

Council Tax can be DD, we will apply for this

A special offer magazine subscription (I wanted it anyway, this is just the nudge that has made me make the decision to go for it) £24 for 12 months or £12 for 2 periods of 6 months can be set up by DD.

Credit Card payments can be DD

    Telephone bill

I know there is a Tesco account -but I don't want any more accounts
I will look to see if I can use my Nationwide mysave to set up a DD.

We also have 2 monthly donations to charities which are DD

Has anyone got some more suggestions which are not bank account links?

Is there any reason not to request the 4%? i.e. for someone who has a vantage but finds it difficult to get over 5K

Should they apply anyway and then if they do go over 5K they will benefit

i.e. there is nothing to lose?

There is nowt to lose so long as you are prepared to set up the two DD mandates.

Thanks for the replies. I must have checked too early, as I didn't know it took 24 hours to get actioned, and I now get the error message against the 2 that I upgraded.

There are miles more easier ways to find 2 DDs for each account

.... It's easier to open them in the branch. I had mine opened within 20 mins and the advisor did the rest without me being there and they set up the standing order for £1000 between all my accounts for me..

I did three Vantage upgrades on the free phone number. It took me five minutes. :A

It seems that they'll only do three. But another poster on here has manged to get five account converted.

When I phoned, I was told I could "only" upgrade three of my Vantage accounts.

If you are lucky you may get an operator who does not know there is this arbitrary limit.
