If there's a 3rd number, why not either include in yourpost

because I am sick and tired of people who want spoon feeding

If you couldn't get through on at least one of the 2 numbers you mentioned, it must have to do with your phone contract, or you dialled the wrong number, because as of right now, they both work.

Or even better, ask them to define what exactly "main account" actually means.

I did originally think of suggesting that - - but wouldn't it just be feeding the troll? There's nowt in the T&Cs that talks about "main account", so why even get into a discuss with them over it. Those people in the Branch can't just dream up new rules.

Though I agree, if you have the time, it could be great fun to let them explain what a "main account" is, and to ask them to point you at the relevant clause in the T&Cs.
  • just wondering - is there any reason why this is not listed in the top bank accounts list?

Also - just opened the Tesco internet saver - do they apply for the opening transfer or am I suppose to pay it in myself? Thanks
Typically confused and asking for advice

In true QI fashion... "Nobody Knows!!!"

Which is why they also couldn't tell me why some people are having their fee waivers removed from Oct2nd and other aren't (despite all complying with their previous fee waiver criteria).. but that was the subject of another thread and the reason why most of my money is no longer with Lloyds... but as a rate tart... I'm gladly taking advantage of this 12 month 4% instant access offer though.
If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.

Clue 1: try either, or both, numbers. They only cost your time if you call from a landline.

Clue 2: use the number(s) that people reported they used to get on the 4% offer.

    Don't be so ignorant.

Clue: Don't waste your timing posting if you've got nothing to say.

Maybe it's not listed because it's not everyone who can stand to gain fully from it by keeping £5000-£6000 in their account.

Regarding Tesco, they apply for the DD (you'll see it appear in a few days). During the opening process you can opt to arrange an opening deposit then or not. I didn't. But I looked at the Move my money section, once I had access to the account online, and I found there was a regular deposit set up which I didn't ask for. I cancelled it and arranged from Money In a one-off £1 deposit for them to pull via the DD from my Vantage account, so it shows a record of activity. Actually just checking now in my Tesco account, the payment arrangement I set yesterday doesn't show! I set it again for another £1.

You do not have to pay a penny to get the "Vantage" interest. "Vantage" can be added all sorts of Lloyds current accounts, all the way from the free 'Classic' to the £25/mth 'Premier' ones.
Oh thank you for telling me! (Sarcasm intended)

Did you ring the number actually listen to the message and go through the menu to actually speak to anyone? I doubt it because if you had you would have got the fault with this service message, which you get after pressing 1 and 2 etc. Its nothing to do with dialling the wrong number or peoples phone contracts!

Hi adindas, answers to all your questions are in this thread. You don't need to read back far to find them.
  • I phoned this morning to upgrade the 3rd of my accounts (did the other two 2days ago as they already had the prerequisite 2 DD's on them at that time).

Anyway, both times I just called the 0845 3000000 number and asked to be put through to the 'Vantage team'. (For those who need it, I'm sure there's a saynoto0870 alternative).
