I popped into a branch yesterday because I wanted to find out my internal score as well. The cashier spent about 5 minutes pressing buttons on her keyboard and then decided on something. She then said 'you already have Vantage on your account.'

I said, 'I know. I want to add the 4% thingy.'

She said, 'It's already on there.'

I said, 'No. You have to set something on the system to get it added on.'

She said, 'All Vantage accounts should have this now.'

I said, 'No. This leaflet (which you are displaying on your desk) says you need to visit a branch for them to do something. If it was already on, why would it tell me to visit a branch?'

She said, '... let me speak to my manager.'

Manager said, 'She meant that if you opened your account in the past few days, it should have the 4% already set. Let me take your account number and I'll get it done. It should take a few days.'

I said, 'OK... I was actually going to see if you wanted to sell me anything (since you send me a letter monthly asking me to phone the branch for a "chat"), but maybe "next time."'

Today I called the 0800 number and he found it was only on one of my accounts. He set it up on the other two instantly. kthxbye.

You need to set up 2 DDs with Halifax to draw money OUT of Lloyds. And Halifax will not allow you to set these up.

I am quite sure but I think what you mean here is Standing Order (SO), not Direct Debit (DD) which is different. The term sometimes confuse people
You can not set up SO to a saving account.

Not sure why there's talk about SOs. You need Direct Debits for the 4% Vantage. If you can't do them all at Tescos, there are some further ideas here.

When you set up a Tescobank savings account, THEY set up a direct debit with your bank account (linked account). When you want to make a payment into the Tesco account, they 'pull' the money using the DD from your bank account. When it is in (can be as little as £1) it will show in your LTSB DD list as £1 and the date, hence showing DD activity, which seems to be required occasionally for the interest to be earned.
