    Existing Vantage customers

If you’ve already got a current account with Vantage - but want to take advantage of this limited Vantage offer - just visit your nearest branch. They’ll sort everything out for you. OR if you already have two Direct Debits on your account, call 0800 015 0162. Open Mon - Fri 8am - 10pm, Sat & Sun 8am - 6pm.

I didn't have the two DD's setup on my accounts but called the freephone number and they agreed to convert them. But yes, I know it says that on the tin!

If you phone them and they wont do it, simply hang up, and phone again in a few minutes and you'll probably get someone that will change them for you.

Where do you learn of this phone number?

    On this page:
    http://www.lloydstsb.com/current_accounts/vantage4.asp

    It says the following:

I can't see where it says anything about a phone number. Perhaps they've taken it off, or I am just blind. I'm going to try ringing it later tonight.
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

It was the very page you've linked to (VANTAGE OFFER), but it looks as if it's now been changed since earlier to get existing customers to go to branch. I wonder why? Perhaps they were getting inundated?

It was also listed very early on in this thread with another 0800 number and on the other Vantage thread which is running elsewhere.

Here's a cached version of what it said :

I am existing customer with 3 Vantage accounts and an hour before I was able to change the interest rate by calling the 0800 number . The advisor on the phone just mentioned that make sure that you have DD set-up by 31 Oct.

Patience? :) yeh I suppose! DD appears as of late today for the first account so that's now the two DDs for that, though I've yet to hear from Tesco about that apart from the DD appearing very quickly and a PIN for a card I haven't got.
Maybe I'll see payments tomorrow(ish) and for the other account follow in the next days. Still have another DD being transferred by SAGA for that.

My 2 PayPal test payments into Vantage 02 & 03 appeared today (were sent 12th). All now confirmed.

Also, just phoned 0800 015 0162 which was answered immediately. No markers had been put on my accounts, despite this being promised in branch last Thursday  All 3 now done.

CSR also confirmed there was nothing in T&C to say DDs had to be active every month, just that they had to be set up. I'm playing safe with a monthly Tesco £1 DD and occasional PayPal or little used credit card payments ;)

All that's left is to fill them up :o

Me too, I just called up now, no problems at all, I said I'd set up the direct debits this week and she added the 4% offer to all three of my Vantage accounts. Excellent!

  • In layman's terms can someone please explain to me what all this switching money from one account to another is all about.

Do you have thousands of pounds in several accounts, say £6000, and have to deposit/switch £1000 into each account per month to qualify for 4% on that account?

Just as well the number was noted in this thread before they removed it. I was looking for it on the Lloyds web site and thought it was odd as it was there earlier.

Perhaps they are trying to make it difficult for existing customers to get the 4%. I think someone noted earlier in the thread that Lloyds really want it to attract new customers.

When I first saw the advertising, I immediately thought "I bet that's for new customers only". I was pleasantly surprised when it was also for existing customers - well done Lloyds.

I thought perhaps they were going to force people to go into a branch to apply so that they had an excuse to sell them more things. I expected to be sold more things on the phone when I called tonight, but I wasn't.
