There is nothing wrong with the assertions - - TSB could indeed change the T&Cs any time (giving some notice for any changes to take effect). Same is, of course, true for Lloyds, so from that point of view, he was wasting your time. Well done for getting your accounts opened.
PS. If you need, and can do, any more: you can open them on the phone.0 -

Being a "valued" customers of Lloyds with currently only one Vantage account I decided to open another 2. I'm on holiday until Thursday so I popped into my branch this morning, interview req'd, everybody on holiday, no vacancies until next week. Went to another branch, same story. Third branch, success, pop back in an hour and someone will see you which I duly did. Advisor did his utmost to talk me out of my intentions. I am aware that nobody wants our cash nowadays with funding for lending but his reasoning ran along the following lines, w.e.f. the 9th of September his branch will become part of the T.S.B. group while my account holding branch will be Lloyds. This could cause a "conflict". I explained that the monthly £1k funding requirement will be from an external source, (well for a couple of seconds anyway) but he persisted saying that under the T.S.B. regime, the T + Cs could be changed at any time. I can't imagine how there would be a conflict. It's not they don't want your money, they just don't want to pay you 3%pa for it!
I imagine he just knew full well you wanted to use it as a savings account and wanted to discourage that.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
I found opening Vantage accounts on line was much quicker and avoided all those tiresome sales oriented fact finding questions one gets in the branch and to a lesser extent over the phone."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

You were lucky there - I was only allowed 1 online and had to do the others on the phone / in Branch.0

Same here, but at least with a phone call you can just put it on speakerphone and let them waffle on about credit agencies and terms and conditions whilst you do something else, so it really only takes about 2 - 3 "real" minutes.0 -
I have 3 x lloydsTsb Vantage a/c s but now they have been converted to TSB Vantage only.
Can I now open 3 x Lloyds only vantage a/c s even though I have 3 x TSB Vantage a/c as I technically no longer have Lloyds a/c s?
Also, can open 3 x Bank of Scotland vantage a/c s as well?
Thank you0 -

I'm hoping I can soon have 3 x TSB Vantage too, but we'll find out soon enough.
Have these to be applied online separately?I tried to apply for another after logging in my BOS vantage and was declined.:o0 -
Others say the 2nd and 3rd should be opened by phone.:T0
