Thanks steve for supporting me as trying to explain to the manager is futile. I'm also thinking the same that my account hasn't been upgraded and sadly the offer has finished so I've complained and will see how LTSB respond.

Looking back on it, when I went into the branch to upgrade it, the staff member was more concentrated on transferring my direct debits from hsbc to lloyds than helping me out with getting the account set up. My current plan is to open an ISA somewhere else if lloyds cant help. cheers
Yes, though the offer is finished it doesn't mean that LTSB cannot put you on it, and they ought to do, given the fact that it was their error that has resulted in you not being on it. Don't give up on this too easily as others on this thread have got what they wanted and they have been given some form of compensation for the ineptness of the bank. So, do go through the complaint process and see how you do with it.

Hmm I was going to open an additional Classic account online then upgrade it to Vantage. However, when I clicked on "Current Account" under "Compare and Apply", it just said "Sorry, we can't offer you a secondary current account."Is there another way to open more Vantage accounts? By phone maybe? More importantly, why would they refuse me another account?

EDIT: Never mind, I was able to apply by following this link directly instead:

    Another LLoyds mess up...!!

Mrs Kar upgraded her second vantage account to the higher 4% tier and duly topped it up to £6k in early October and there are 2 active DDs set-up. Sadly the interest paid on 2 Nov was identical to her third vanatge account with only £5k in.

I went into branch and apparently a few people had been in and complained about not earning any extra interest. The Cashier "beleived" the matter would be put right next month but we would have to wait until Decembers interest to be calculated.

That's totally unacceptable so I will be complaining as £1000 has been sitting earning no interest for over 3 weeks and I'm not waiting another month to lose even more.

Her main current vanatge account was ungraded the day the offer started in Sept and paid interest on £6k from day one.
If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.
If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.

You're right to complain. I cannot see why it would happen in December if it's not set up right now.

Use the upgrade button trick mentioned earlier in the thread to find out what rate you're on.

Press the "upgrade account" button on internet banking.

If you get "9200114 : Unfortunately there has been a technical problem. This transaction has not been completed.", then you've probably been upgraded to the 4% rate.

If not, you're still on 3%.

I know its not the point, but you do realise that you have lost just £2.66 ? Assuming basic rate tax.

So if the account still isn't upgraded in december, you'll lose £5.32, but you'll probably get a £10 goodwill payment after you submit your formal complaint, so you'll actually be better of :)

The upgrade button just comes up with a new page on upgrading to silver account.

We deliberately asked in branch to confirm the account had been upgraded when we did it and again today. We got the cashier to check the flag on her screen was set to the 4% tier "380/13".

I posted the correct internal codes in an earlier post. They'd be on about page 4/5 of this thread. I'll see if I can find it.

    Here you go : http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=55815699&postcount=159

    New 4% Vantage = 380/13
    Old 3% Vantage = 380/05

Mrs Kar gets interest gross but as you say the amount is not the point. It's just such a shame that this is yet another example of Lloyds screwing up and poor CS in addressing the issue (speaking from several painful personal experiences during the last 12 months.)

In that case it most definitely hasn't been upgraded.

If that's the case the junior Manager who "upgraded" the a/c 3 weeks ago and the cashier who checked the account today are totally incompetant... something which wouldn't suprise me in the slightest!

It seems ironic they have had other similar complaints.

Seems that you just cannot rely on the staff these days. I really don't understand how these people get the job in the first place.
