    1) 9 Vantage between my wife and I, opened them long before they restricted to three.
    2) Not all are 4%. £10/16 approximates to the interest accrued for the 3/4% accounts. I transfer small amounts as and when required to keep balance close to £5/6,000, but I don't get hung up over it.

As per my previous post: Please be advised, you need to set up 2off DD but actually you do not need to debit any cash to qualify for the 4% offer on each Vantage account.

Hello from my remote Highland hideaway! Today I manged to find a BT openzone to check my banking. Found that Tesco has cancelled both DDs from one Vantage account and one from another. Can'd do much until Sat but would interested to hear if this had happened to anyone else.

    Annoyed now!

Yes, a similar thing happened to me with Tesco's I have two accounts with them and I noted that the DD's started to cancel when I set up additional ones to the proposed 4%Vantage accounts. They are installed successfully now but I do not plan to draw from LTSB using them in case they !!!!!! up again.

Interesting! Tesco have taken the funds from me and then cancelled the DDs. Will need to call them. Perhaps letters have been sent but of course I'm not there!!

    Thanks for replying.

Phoned Tesco's and they had no explanation but have reinstated the DDs. Will watch my accounts closely. I am so glad I went to a branch of my bank this morning after checking my account.

OK i get it now !! Mind I have had Vantage accounts for a few years but was always told I was only allowed 3 and of course you dont need DD's on the old Vantage accounts.

I've had a horrendous experience with lloyds TSB, given me a right headache this offer has suffice it to say I will be closing my account down as soon as possible and taking my money elsewhere. Wish I didn't bother with it.

I've been credited less than 3% on my balance of £5000-£6000 and met all the t&cs of the offer. Phoned the advice line and was told conflicting things that my account hasn't been upgraded. Then referred to branch manager of my local branch and told that it is the 4% vantage I have but the interest is 'tiered' and that I will receive 4% on anything over £5k, all the rest is interest at 3%. Went into branch yesterday, made me wait as adviser was attending another customer and then another customer had an appointment and was seen to and the lady at the counter told me she can only apoligise for making me wait and set me an appointment. Went into branch today and saw the advisor who was quite up herself and happened to be the same person I spoke to on the phone and she maintained that the interest is tiered and I would only recieve 4% on anything between £5000 to £6000. I knew I won't get anywhere with reasoning so demanded to see manager and guess what? She replied 'I am the branch manager'. Well I'm at a dead end and to top it all, even lost my debit card today/yesterday. (Didn't lose it infact, yesterday when I was in the branch, the lady at the counter asked for it so she can write my details down on a paper to get me seen by an advisor, in my frustration, I forgot about my card and am sure she forgot to give it me back - asked in the branch to the same lady today and she tells me 'she doesn't take anyones card' and hasn't seen it.)

    Disappointed.

It's disgraceful. They have told you incorrectly at the branch. If you have a balance between 5 and 6k then you will earn interest at 4% on the WHOLE of the balance as long as the account has been upgraded.

You need to make a formal complaint about her specifically since she has insisted that what she has told you is correct.

The true reason why your account has not atracted the appropriate rate of interest will be because it wont have been upgraded.

Thanks steve for supporting me as trying to explain to the manager is futile. I'm also thinking the same that my account hasn't been upgraded and sadly the offer has finished so I've complained and will see how LTSB respond.

Looking back on it, when I went into the branch to upgrade it, the staff member was more concentrated on transferring my direct debits from hsbc to lloyds than helping me out with getting the account set up. My current plan is to open an ISA somewhere else if lloyds cant help. cheers

I must admit, the branch advisor's and managers are typically useless, spouting incorrect information and not knowing what they are doing. However, the people answering the 0800 number couldn't be more helpful and seem to know the exact details of the offer. They opened accounts for me within 10 minutes (couldn't do it at a branch without an appointment), checked the others to ensure they were @ 4% and even rang me up a week later to confirm I was happy with the account.
