The mortgage account has disappeared from online banking! So it’s done. Now to wait for a confirmation letter. I guess at that point they’ll confirm my mortgage is discharged and that they’ve notified Land Registry?10

You can register for land registry alerts, so if something changes you'd be notified.
Aimed at fraud prevention, but will also tell you when the house is "yours".If it's not adding up, compound it!1 -
I got a letter from the land registry to say that the mortgage provider had released their charge on the house.Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. Beware fee charging companies with similar names.1

I think it took a couple of weeks for a letter from the mortgage provider to say they had released their claim and a week after that from the land registry.
It's just paperwork though, the house is all yours!Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. Beware fee charging companies with similar names.2 -
The mortgage news hasn’t really sunk in yet. I’m sure it will and it will hit me, I’m waiting for that!In other news my cruise (which was postponed from May 2020) has been postponed again so I won’t be trying to travel to Greece next month! Phew! It’s been moved to August so very much hoping it can go ahead this time. This weekend I’ve seen my family! The driving has broken me (not used to it anymore) and thankfully the weather has been super so the bonus was enjoying being sat in the sun in the garden!5

I reckon the mortgage news will only really sink in when you next get paid and realise you don't need to put anything aside for it 😀
I'm waiting on being able to meet indoors before I see my family - too much of a wuss to sit outside 🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
