Hi @caeler, good to see your post. I remember your diary from when I was reaching paying off my mortgage. Congratulations on your saving rate! One site I can recommend if you are interested in FIRE is guiide.co.uk (two i's). It's free and is helpful in modelling various pensions and savings towards a retirement income.
Thank you! And yes Guiide is really good, helped with some of my thinking.

Great to read your update @caeler!

Congratulations on your savings rate, that is really so impressive. Enjoy your holiday when it comes! Also well done on the council tax victory.

Re: the car, yes we're also in the same boat, talking about replacing ours, it's 11 years old. But then it works so I'm reluctant to change the status quo. I think frugal living is hard to move away from (not a bad thing!)

@glass_half_full thanks for that link, I need to check it out myself.

I too have a 10 year old car which I have owned for about 7 1/2 years. It does everything I need. I do occasionally get tempted, as far a specifying the car of my dreams. Then I look at the at least £400 + per month it would cost and come to my senses. I have switched off car ads on Fbook which helps!
Aiming to early retire December 31st 2026.
