Thanks @Viking_mfw I think you are right. I've got a little countdown app which keeps me focused and motivated and the mini NSD challenge has been quite fun.2

Wow Caeler I have just finished reading your diary from the start. You have come such a long way and are now so close to the finish line. I will be cheering you on till you get there. Keep goingMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Thank you! @slm6002
116 days to go!
I got a letter today from Nationwide confirming my recent overpayment and (the best bit IMHO) that my mortgage has reduced from 10 years 10 months to 8 years 11 months! So now there will be no redemption charge of £65 when I pay off my mortgage in June!
I’ve enjoyed 4 NSDs so far this month and I’m in a quandary if today should be one or not. I am due around about now to do a major grocery shop (last one was in mid-December). I generally only do this once every couple of months and then just do small weekly top up shops for milk, eggs and fresh veg. I could probably go another week or so without the bigger shop, although I am just putting off the inevitable. Such a silly thing to wrestle with! I will see how I feel later.

5 NSDs! I don’t need to do a big shop so I’m not going! For years I would shop weekly regardless of if I actually needed to. It was habit. Then lockdown happened. I’ve totally changed my spending habits. My food budget has almost cut in half now. It is easy to slip into habit, it is still there as I worry about running out of things. And of course I get a thrill of saving every penny to put into the mortgage fund! 😂5

Just read the last five pages of your diary but will come back later and start at the beginning. I am so envious of your 120 days to go, it'll pass so quickly I'm sure.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

I’m as excited as you for the next 115 days lol! Hasn’t it flew since you started the thread!I’ve also been dragging my food shop out and only really done 2 big shops in January instead of every Tuesday. The only problem I have is DP is bored stiff in lockdown so is in the supermarket everyday just for something to do so we just have loads of little spends instead of one big one.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

115 days to go!
I’ve done lots of spending today, I’ve kept a list of things I needed from the week and brought them today so not to ruin my 5 day NSD streak! 😂 my runner bean seeds arrived today too. Can’t wait to get going! I’ve also brought some “moonlight” variety as recommended by my grandparents.
Thanks @porridgecat the journey started long ago but I can hardly believe I’m approaching the final hurdle.
That would drive me nuts! @ftbdreaming I’m actively avoiding the supermarket these days. I’m so conscious of limiting my social contact, I’ve gone all a bit extreme! I used to love shopping. Time has flown by especially the last 4 years and certainly the last few months. Roll on June! (Sorry everybody else!)
I’m really not sure @killerpeaty maybe May 2022?! I don’t know what to do for the best. Ultimately I have to wait and see. And consider what my travelling companions want to do too. If I got the chance I’d prefer next year to be safe.

Why did your grandparents recommend those moonlight beans?
2022 feels like it's in the distant future, but that be because I still haven't registered that we are in 2021! I hope you can get it all agreed with everyone.1 -
