:hello: Gooooood Morning fellow OS’ers
Long time no see but all has been very busy in QueenieLand.
Quite a bit of computer work going on which means by the time I’ve finished that, catching up, reading and posting on forums isn’t an attractive offer on my eyes.
Been spending some time with my friend crafting homemade cards, which she has taken to with gusto. She is truly remarkable! Despite her future prospects, she remains completely positive and simply refuses to give in to any of it; even dying!! Such an inspiration! She made a real old fashioned Bacon and Onion Pudding for lunch last week when the weather was bitterly cold – such a simple, country dish; real comfort food and very money saving!
D12yo was awarded “Man Of The Match” a couple of weeks ago and has his next match today (soon!) so he’ll lose that title – but boy, did it make his day
D11yo is sporting his first spot – he’s very embarrassed about it, but managed to quip, “I can get a job in McDonald’s now, I meet the criteria!” :rotfl:
Out to lunch next week with another group of friends, thankfully still in time to use the voucher from February’s Asda mag before it expires, so watch out Toby, 12 giggling women heading your way
With so much going on, I’ve had the opportunity to road test a ‘convenience mix’ from a US website which has proved enormously useful. I especially like the fact it can be stored in the freezer and used straight from the freezer. You can check it out here:
PDF format.Saving Money with Homemade Convenience Mixes (University Of Maine)
HTML format: http://www.umext.maine.edu/onlinepubs/htmpubs/4029.htm
Now that the clocks have sprung forward and the sun has finally broken through the recent drab weather, Spring Cleaning is very much on my mind – I’ve got a weekend free next weekend so I’m going to do some major de-cluttering and donating. One of our local farm shops takes in books which they sell on to customers for small change and donate to the Hospice, so I know where all those novels are headed
Well that’s all I’ve time for. Need to get my skates on and whip up something low GI for the lads before their match! Sorry I haven’t had chance to catch up with everyone’s news, just really wanted to touch base with you all
Have a super moneysaving Sunday!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Morning all..........((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) if you need one.
Started to take a new preparation for my insomnia last night, will wait with baited breath to see if it has any effect.
WE went to bed just after 11.pm (12 midnight) I woke briefly at 5.30 and then surfaced at 8.30 when the alarm went off.
OH got up, we were expecting someone to collect a bookcase we sold on ebay last night...she turned up in a smallish car with two children, could not put the seats down, so we ended up having to take the bookcase to bits to get it in. I had put the measurements on, why didn't she read them before she bought the thing GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRR.............
Dried the quilt cover on the airer last night, towels out on the line now. I have put in an advert for 4th April for the washer.....we should have posession of the apartment by then and I can uise the laundry. Am going to do another wash later in the week, just to try and keep things up to date.
Hope it sells do not want to leave it here!!!!!
Pork for supper here too, have some fruit out to do a crumble, it will do us 3 nights for supper. Might make a sponge cake later to have with our afternoon tea.....see how I feel. A bit headachy right now, so taking it steady this morning.
My shop and scan bleeper has stopped working, they sent me a new one and it doesn't work either so am going to have to ring them tomorrow, good job its a free phone number.
Right I am off to do a bit more........need to try and hoover the carpets upstairs, have not done any cleaning as such for 3 weeks now, and the dust is beginning to get to me. When we moved the bookcase last night I had to sweep the carpet with a brush and ended up having a massive coughing fit!!
Enjoy your day osers....................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Mrs_Mix I understand totally now, DH has the same problem, just has to take the tablets. It was rather funny when he first went to the doctors with the problem, the usual routine:
Do you smoke? - No
Do you drink? - Brewerys would be bankrupt if they depended on me.
Do you eat fatty food - in general definitely NO. We only ever have oven chips, he cuts .5" away from the meat if he finds a minute piece of fat on it, and we have skimmed milk, he can't stand butter, his only weakness was cheese. So that is now off the menu, I would not of thought the lean meat part of roast pork was fatty. His work sandwiches are dry bread, with a slice of cooked meat, with some brown sauce, I couldn't handle them. I am so used to it now, I never add fat to anything, however, its not helped my waistline though!

my diet is much the same although if I eat too much food that has a naturally high fat content it builds up as my body can't get rid of it
also I have arthritis and can only have steroid injections and a milder anti-inflamatory because of by stomach
I do take tablets to control it as well as pills to stop me being sick in all I have to take 20 tablets a day just to be able to move, eat, ect
pam xxI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

Good afternoon all,
well, it's lovely weather here just now - there is definately heat in the sun today! Didn't think it was going to be such a nice day, as it was rather chilly this morning, but it has improved immensely. Still colder in the shade though, so won't be breaking out the sun lounger just yet!
I'm at twinks house just now, enjoying the weekend - she always spoils usHad a good time at the car boot sale - got some really nice card toppers so was very happy :T Haven't had a chance to catch up on all the threads yet - haven't been on the computer for a couple of days, so need to go and have a good browse.

Twink Ditto!! what others have said. Although I was shocked with the whipped cream. I thought being an OS'er you used mock cream.
You should have seen twink when she was telling me about all the whipped cream comments - I have never seen this woman blush so much - and in front of her kids! Red doesn't begin to describe it - we're having a good chuckle though
Oh well, best to go get ready as we'll be heading back soon. Take care all - *hugs* to all who want them. Have a nice day!0 -
What fab pictures Smokybabe- really lovely.
Been out in the front garden today to divide the primulas- there were masses so some have gone to my neighbour. Amazing how many people stop to chat as you`re doing it. Anyway all pristine now and ready to hang out the towels. Must be the first really settled day and not toooo cold.

Hiya All,
I'm late today, I've been really tired from not sleeping very well for the last couple of weeks and my body decided to have a darned good sleep last night to catch up. I'm not complaining, the jobs I'd planned will still need doing tomorrow
Snowy, I can't believe they took your supervisors side! (((((((HUGS))))))) I know how that sort of injustice feels, don't let it get to you Hun, she will get her come-uppance eventually.
I love that there are so many family connections on OS, it really makes me feel all warm inside :T . I wonder how many of us have more distant family connections and just don't realise it. Now there is a thought!
Well done all sucessful footballers and "you was robbed" to those who's matches didn't go so well.
It is warmer today after a week of absolutely freezing weather. Some bits of the park are covered in daisies now, it's lovely.
I'm about to dash off to get some paint and glue and stuff I need, I don't get the chance to get stuff like that during the week. WM is on again, BM is on again, bread consumption has gone up - and it's not me eating it!
Thr 5 coot toddlers discovered water this morning! Dad wasn't quick enough bringing the food, so they tottered forward and.... Plop!
The looks of suprise on their little faces! At that age they bob about like little corks. There is a sort of gentle slope from their nest to the water and they soon found that and scrambled back to the safety of the nest, telling Mum all about the strange wet stuff they found. They are beginning to find their voices now too. In a few more days the air will be filled with piercing peeps of "Muuuuum! I'm hungry!"
Now whenever I appear outside both Mum and Dad come hurtling up for a quick feed. Mum looks as if she has lost a good third of her body weight since the chicks hatched. I think I'll make her a leftovers corn pie, she loves that.
Tarragon chicken in the SC for me and the freezer, I'll have it with steamed vegetables. Yum.
Right, time I headed out, bye for now.My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Morning everyone. I have a very sore head today
Girly pampering night last night was such fun. Drank too much champagne. Last night I didn't think it was possible to drink too much champagne
Not very OS I suppose, but much cheaper than going out still.
I have been to the farm shop when I got back this afternoon and am now about to go and get some milk. House in dire need of tidying and cleaning, will do that and possibly have a little doze before OH gets back tonight. I should think he'll have a sore head too after this bloomin stag do malarky. Oh lordy we are both drunkards
Sending good wishes and hugs to anyone who needs them x x x0
