I wonder if that is a first.

    Probably.

I think the Football idea of having an age limit, so the tournament is in many ways part of the team building process for many nations, is sound.

I think Rugby 7's is going to be introduced soon. It would make sense to do the same there, as 7's is already a Worldwide game with it's own series and tournaments in place.

i don't think federer was not bothered, i thought he was just off-form and got completely outplayed.

Yes, I think you are right, but I do believe he would have managed to up his game in a Grand Slam or Masters event.

Federer doesn't lose to anyone 2,1 and 4 on any surface, and he has just regained the #1 ranking so it would be hard to say he is "over the hill"

Federer is a great champion because he can raise his game and get pumped up in adversity......for some reason he couldn't today, whereas Murray did what he often fails to do, he got into a winning position and went for the jugular.

I missed it (bloomin' real life getting in the way of the Olympics) did he show why he got the ride over Chris Hoy?

rode 10.030 in the second race of his heat, pretty swift. bourge looked like he wasn't even trying in his heats though, can't see kenny beating him i'm afraid, hope i'm wrong though.

Yeah. He did that a while ago. 2-0 in the worlds.
Unlike chewy I can see him beating Bourge. Tough but doable.

Linford Christie won the mens 100m at Barcelona in a time of 9.92 seconds. Now see how many guys are running under that just to get out of the semis. Bolt looking impressive.

    ETA: qualifying semi-finalist times:

    Gatlin 9.82
    Blake 9.85
    Bolt 9.87 (easing off)
    Gay 9.90
    Martina 9.91
    Powell 9.94
    Bailey 9.96
    Thompson 10.02

Congratulations to Adam Gemili who was a footballer not a sprinter until 6 months ago

i'd like to see all of their times at 60m. bolt would be some way in front. he looked like he might have broken the world record if he hadn't pulled up.

I think Bolt will win, it was like he was hiding something. My prediction is 1) Bolt, 2) Blake, 3) Gay, though Gatlin may edge the bronze. Everyone can tell me how wrong I was in about 45 minutes.

The Brazilians are using the Olympics to build a team for the 2014 World Cup.
