NCP ticket in ASDA car park II: Return of the ticket

Asda are seriously suggesting that a car park dedicated to their own store is owned by NCP ? While NCP do indeed own some car parks I'm not aware of them owning dedicated supermarket car parks. Asda do have form with "lying" about car park ownership - there have been examples on here where Asda have claimed the car park was owned by a PPC or even the council but a search of land registry has proven they owned it. The letter is a complete fob off.All aboard the Gus Bus !0

The car park will almost certainly NOT be owned by NCP. Asda have previous 'form' for saying this, we had a thread a couple of months ago where they said they couldn't do anything as the PPC owned the car park. Then they were set straight about it by the poster; I think they did then get their @rrses in gear and got the fake PCN cancelled.
They seem not to realise that NCP are acting as Asda's AGENTS! :mad:
But off-topic and for a bit of fun, I just Googled Nichola Bassett's name and found this online 'pocketgate' complaint to Asda about the design of jacket pockets, Google searches, gravity, Christmas, Asda staff wages and all sorts of other amusing stuff that it seem Nichola and her colleagues soon got bored with! :rotfl:

The complaint about this fake PCN could be headed up 'NCPgate' when you reply, merryck! They are very, very probably wrong with the statement 'the conditions have been placed on the car park by the owners of the car park, NCP.' Unless it's a shared retail car park clearly headed up as an NCP car park upon entrance, then it's not owned by NCP. As I have said, Asda can certainly call the shots because NCP are acting as agents for Asda.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Oh wow, well here's a turn up for the books! It seems NCP really do own it!
That means Andy Clarke owes me £1.10!
I shall be writing to them about that.
It'll be interesting to see how they respond to my 'appeal' anyway. I suppose this leaves ASDA off the hook. That's a shame, I was having fun!0 -
How do you know that NCP own it, out of interest?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Never admit to being the driver AND supplying your address. Thats just stupid.
You have two choices:
1) Ignore them. Tell the parents that its a scam, there is no legal power for them to issue a NIP and they have no legal power to obtain the drivers details under caution etc. Eventually the letters will stop (I know this for a fact - I used to work in the parking industry though I won't mention which companies I worked for)
2) Write to them, tell them you can not be contacted at the folks address but you were the driver yourself. Don't give them your address as they have no legal right to it and its their problem.
Finally, as per the VCS tax case, they have no right to pursue for losses anyway unless they directly own the car park. NCP don't own all of their car parks. A lot of them are managed for the land owners under the NCP brand.0 -
I did a search on the land registry website and paid for the info. It says they own the car park;
"Registered Owner(s): NATIONAL CAR PARKS LIMITED (Co. Regn. No. 0253240) of 6th Floor Offices, Centre Tower, Whitgift Centre, Croydon CR0 1LP."
It's no longer a problem really, I was just going to have fun messing with them. All this means is I'll just carry on ignoring their letters. The aim of this whole exercise was to get them writing to me instead of my fiancee, so it's worked in that sense. I just wanted to mess around with them.

To be honest, its really not worth your time messing around with them. NCP can be a nasty bunch to deal with if you really rile them. The more you irritate them the more likely they are to look at ways of dealing with you somehow.
The best policy with NCP is simply ignore them. They will soon get bored.0 -
Dear Merryck,
demand immediate payment of the £100 parking charge or we'll come round to your house with baseball bats and smash your kneecaps.
will this new activity of having to have baseball bat training and anatomy classes to work out where a knee cap is likely to be added to the debt collectors threaty letter along with solistor fees etc:DThe word about the scammers is spreading like marmite here in the westcountry.
We workers all love it and the ppc hate it :rotfl:0 -

UPDATE
=========
Had a letter today from the lovely people at Newlyn Debt Collection Ltd.
Apparently I shouldn't ignore their very important letter, and I owe them £154.00, which sounds like a completely real and not made up amount.
If I don't pay them right now then they will take 'further action at considerable cost' to me.
I'll tell you what, I'm shivering in my boots at this one.
</sarcasm>
At least I know where I am now, just got to wait for their little chain of letters to end. I just wish they'd man up and take me to court so I can have a judge tell them to go f**k themselves.0 -
Does the letter have the word 'bailiff' anywhere on it?
More opportunity for trouble making...Je Suis Cecil.0
