Perhaps the restaurant has a Twitter feed and/or Facebook page where you could post your experience (Twitter may need more than 1 tweet message though to explain it properly).0

Did the guy have respectable personal hygiene? There may have been concerns over the smell of other diners. Also he may have been one of those homeless people who bother diners alot in the restaurant.
Although even if he was there was no way your kind gesture should see you labelled as being weird.
What I like to do is instead of giving homeless people money I will nip into a shop and buy them a bag of things eg a couple of sandwiches, dome bottles of water, some crisps etc. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Thats what I do too, and doggy chews for the dog they usually have too. Tend to buy them hot drinks in the winter too.
Well done for trying to be a good guy OP, shame the place made you feel bad about it.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

You could just tweet them a link to this thread with the words "shocking discrimination" next to it (or something similar)."So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:0 -
You can name them on here with no comebacks, and I really do think you should.
This behaviour should NOT be allowed to become acceptable.
It is just indescribably horrible, degrading for the person.
To say it was "weird",well, says much more about them, and I guarentee this is not the only instance this company will have had complaints about these staff-trust me.0 -
That was a really nice thing to try to do, and please, please, please name the establishment as I eat out and about quite often and wouldn't want this company getting my money now0

Well done Tygermoth :T:T:T sod the store, you did a good deed.0

Seriously, please name and shame these people - if this is a company policy, it is disgraceful.
If you are worried about legal ramifications, you are allowed to state your experiences and opinion on a public forum, and you can cite Arkell v Pressdram should there be any comeback. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

That's awful! It's great that you tried, I can't believe what sort of company would turn them away (and laugh).0
