Honeymoon, are you having one?

We didn't have a honeymoon, couldn't afford one. Sadly never been on holiday together, ever, even for a weekend away.
So we were determined not to spend our wedding night at our house. We got married in a little village and it had a lovely cute B/B so this is where we stayed. A lot of our wedding guests also stayed here, no general public stopped so was lovely the next morning to have breakfast with our friends.
I did have my parents & sister over from my home (Australia) for all of August last year, so the 5 of us had all that time before our wedding being very busy as it was the 1st time the 3 of them have been to England.
I would of loved a honeymoon or just a few days away with my hubby, but just couldn't do it. You do what you can and holidays for us just don't exist, funds at the moment don't stretch to stuff like that.
Hopefully though for our soon 1 year anniversary we might be able to go away for 2 nights.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
We are going on honeymoon a year after the wedding.
We're looking to do 3 weeks taking in San Fransico, LA, Vegas & Hawaii. Mainly so we can do Alcertraz, Gran Canyon & Hoover Dam & Pearl Harbour.
I can't wait gives me something to plan and plenty of time to save. Plus OH has never been away beforeFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
Yes! We're having a minimoon and a megamoon, lol.
I've always wanted to go to Borneo, so OH said we could for our honeymoon : ) Hopefully 2 day stopover in Singapore or KL, 6 day jungle trip with orangutan sanctuary, then 5 days at 5* beach resort.
However, the best time to go is Jan-March, but we wanted to get married in Sept 2013, so we decided to go to Paris for a couple days straight after the wedding as we got engaged there this April and loved it. Then we'll have plenty of time to get jabs and pack for Borneo in Feb, it'll be something to look forward to after the wedding!0 -
Oh wow faithless that sounds amazing! Bet you can't wait.
We are going to a festival two months after our wedding so that will be our minimoon.
I have a friend coming over from Canada for the wedding so the week before the wedding I'll be giving him a tour of the Highlands then when we get back showing him the sights & sounds of London so that will keep me busy. I've visited him twice in Montreal so know it's my turn to return the favour

We didn't have a honeymoon, because we both had to work and couldn't get more time off than the actual wedding day itself. We spent our summer holiday in the UK (3 months after the wedding) and have had quite a few other little and big holidays since. We go away quite a lot anyway and had lived together for 3 years before marrying so arguably a honeymoon doesn't have the same significance in that situation...it's possible that a honeymoon "means more" if you don't normally go on holidays or you haven't lived together before marriage, and I don't feel we've suffered for not having one.0

continualdiamond, I hope you get your anniversary holiday!
We have over a year to choose, and have loads of ideas (safari/beach/city), so I'm gonna get a map of the world (could do it on PC, but my brain works better on paper) and cros off the places we don't want to go - places that are at war, for instance! and things like we'd really like to travel outside of Europe as it's probably one of our few chances. Once we see what parts of the world are left, we can do lots of research on the places and hopefully go somewhere where we can 'hop' to other places.0 -
No, no one to look after the kids. But as we only decided to do this in February this year, we had already booked Center Parcs for the first week in September so we will try to enjoy ourselves, eat out more than normal and splash out on a few activities there! x0
