morning all,
Wet here too, but might brighten up latrer on, its lovely and fresh though.
Need to do my office work this morning, did not get round to it yesterday, also need to have a quick tidy round, did a good clean yesterday.
DD and I have the dentist this morning, and then she is off to town with her best mate, I think she is going to get the top of her ear pierced , she has been asking to have it done for ages, I have done some research and the hole will eventually close up if you take it out, and she is old enough now to make her own mind up, but I hate the thought of it
Dad is still very poorly and not eating, the home seem to have no idea about feeding a sick person, yesterdays tea was cheese and potato pie, which was all greasy, he would not touch it, will take him a sandwich today, cut into tiny pieces, he seems to be able to cope with that.
Dinner tonight is gammon steak with mash and peas.
Have good days all xx0 -
Good morning nmlc and all,
what a chance in the weather! For the first time in ages i woke up cold but i did leave my bedroom window open rather wide last night. Dogs gave me a lie in this morning which makes a change.
Plans for me today? Well i need to pop down the chemist and collect my new medication. My GP has given me yet another tablet to try and lower my blood pressure. The Beta Blockers he gave me last month made me sleep the clock round and i'm only hoping these Alpha Blockers will work without the side effects. I'm 50 drugged up to me eyeballs but at least i retain my sense of humour.
Back to jobs for today. Well its been ages since i cleaned on top of the wardrobes so theres probably 6" of dust accumulated so thats going to be second on my list. I was going to bath the dogs as Lucy girlie is a bit whiffy but i dont think its warm enough today to bath them.
Might pop round to see my friend later this afternoon or i might just settle for an afternoon with Mr Grey.
Hoping you all have a lovely day or a dry one at least! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Good morning,
Redruby - So sorry to hear about your father, you shouldn't have to take food in to him. Could you have a word with the matron/manager to get him an individual diet? And perhaps tiny amounts but really frequent would be easier? It is part of his proper care and if you mention the CQC Outcome (Outcomes are the rules that care or nursing homes have to abide by) on Nutrition you may get a result. I think it's Outcome 5 and you could check it out online. (In all this spare time you have such difficulty filling:D)
Raining here too, but caught up with washing yesterday. A few errands to run in town and then I shall settle down to some paid work!!! With all the crises with my son I haven't been doing much (self-employed) and am getting very low on funds, despite being really careful. Also need to make the dough for pizza for dinner tonight.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0 -
nmlc hope you and dh relax and have a great time
muckymoo hope you can still have a good time with your friend. it's worth checking the coupon board for freebies, i believe you can get a free mcv*ties cake which would be a nice treat.
Morning ((hugs)) all.
I didn't get to the post office yesterday so I will go as soon as it opens. Today is mainly for cleaning and decluttering. I need to get back to the no unnecessary toiletries thread desperately!
Did anyone else get really emotional watching the gymnastics yesterday? It was just so brilliant and they looked thrilled! And the Lithuanian girl, aww!!

I'm another one who loved the gymnastics:T:) y fav sport.
I came to use my car the other day to find a huge crack in the windscreen - not a clue how it got there but its going to cost me £90 via my insurance to get it replaced:mad: luckily I can use DHs car until tomorrow when its being done.
Have changed our bed this morning, WM is on but will hang it indoors I think as its supposed to be showers today.
The rest of the house (bar DSs pit) is clean and tidy and I've done the small amount of ironing.
I've got some carrots out of the garden to prepare for the freezer.
DH is off to the dentist later to have a tooth out(ouch!) now that his infection has cleared up.
Thats about it from here.
Have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -

Life goes on as normal here..blessing every minute that the air conditioner is on[24\7!]....... Our normal summer heat seems to have been having a heatwave here and it has been the hottest july in ages with some noon temps going up to 45c here!.the last couple of days seem to have been a steady 40c.......!! Its also been really humid which is unusual for the deserty area that we live in!!!!!! Last week I was in Tel Aviv for a day and it felt like 80% humidity.......all I could think of was a nice cool shower at home!.......not that we have any cold water as the pipes get so hot during the day that even the cold water is lukewarm:eek:
Am enjoying watching the Olympics tho' the tv here seems to be showing too much judo for me.....it was good to watch some swimming last tho'
Well I seem to have waffled on.......have a great day everyone and "see" you all tomorrow.......0 -
Morning all,:j:j
Wet here this morning,
Not much on for me today. Iv got some tidying to do while my wife is at work. I also need to pop to a local indoor market. We could do with some meat. There is a local one that's open today that has good butcher. He sells good meat at a good price.
The twins have gone down my Mums and dads caravan for a couple of days, They love it down there in the country side.
Lunch for me today with be some sort of sandwich. Im not sure what i will be cooking for dinner today. Really depends on what i pick up from the market.
Well have a great day all:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Hi all
Gosh, so many OSers having a hard time, or sadness in their lives, or unwell:( Posi-vibes, GWS wishes and (((HUGS))) as needed, for one and all.:o
Ted was collected about half an hour ago, so the bungalow seems 'orribly empty; still, Jessie Lab will be arriving at 16:30 on Thursday, Mr LW has a day off tomorrow (for Lughnassadh), and he got an email last night offering him a "Mission Enjoyable" assignment (basically a Mystery Shopper job on Real Ale) so we may well go and do that tonight - it has to be done by 19th August. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
