Eeek I posted a long post here last night but I see it didn't stay where I put it

Morning all and hope everyone is well

Anyway, I rejoined Slimming W0rld on Thursday night:j :j I very nearly didn't get there, as have been making excuse after excuse of not being at home, etc. I have fallen into bad routine of staying awake all night watching tv and being online, going to bed about 6 or 7 am and then sleeping until 5 or 6 pm. Bad I know, but hey ho, that's how it is :o I decided that I had to go back to slimming class by going to 5.30pm class on Thursday, run by the same consultant who used to run the Monday classes Alan and I used to go to and help out at. Sleeping as I say during the day, I woke and when I saw the time was 6.20pm, I very nearly just went back to sleep .................... but I dragged myself out of bed, had a shower and got dressed and made it to the hall just in time. Consultant was delighted to see me and I got a long tight hug from her

Well, I am only 2 1/2 lbs away from my previous top weight, so will be starting all over again, but I can do this, I can :D I weigh in next week at this class and then up in Newcastle for the next 3 weeks or so, and determined to weigh in locally when I go down to visit Kit, and Steve & Andy. If I had not got there on Thursday, I know I wouldn't have gone next week as I would have used that excuse again or being away the following week, wanting to check first week's weight loss at home class

    Wish me luck :j

Boult, you are crazy for doing well dressing, but hope you took it easy and it went well. Will you be putting pics on FB? would love to see them.

3Dogs, well done on getting back to Slimming World. As the song goes the first step is always the hardest. good luck with it and you are being so positive planning meetings at Newcastle and with the boys.

We start petelling on the 20th may,for 'em to be up on the friday night, ready to be uncovered on saturday morning, and I will try and put photo's up, not sure how to do it, but I'm sure I can find out :D, it will be manic, between work,OH & Bro's birthday, petalering and now work's given me a mandatory course to do that week as well!

Well done on going back to SW, 3D, that's something I'v got to do as well, it won't be this week though, mine's on a wensday morning and next wensday I'v got to wait in for electrice board to come and change my metre...........and I'v got to move all the food out of the cupboard first:eek:, seeing as the metre is still in the same place where it was when there was a pantry here, before we moved in council did the kitchen and just put cupboard's in on top of the metre and the fuse box.

Hiya guys - sorry not been around much lately but certainly lost my mojo for MSE and FB :(

Last Monday I went to see the doc as I had been having terrible palpitations and dizziness and he checked my heart, giving me the OK there. Said it would be panic attacks, which is what my doc said about 18 months ago. These have been so much worse though, so I thought it best to get them checked. He said to remember when it happens that it will stop, even though it feels like it won't as it is happening. Also said it will be all the added stress lately plus the stress from last year coming through now. I asked for a change in my antidepressants as I have felt for over a year now that they 'take too much away' and make me sleep so very much, so he halved my dosage from 300 mg to 150 mgs and I am trying that out at the moment, though he said it will take about 2 weeks to show a difference

Steve & Andy where up decorating my bedroom for me last week and I stayed at their friend's cottage with them while they were doing it, to be away from the paint smell ...... oh, and also because they dismantled and threw out my old wooden frame bed on the first day so I didn't have anything to sleep on anyway, until they put together my new faux leather gas lift storage bed on Saturday :j I just have to get the new flooring ordered and put down and get new curtains and blind and that is another room all done :j :j

I came up North on Sunday to stay at my sister's house while they are on holiday in America, and we interred Mam's ashes in the family grave on Monday morning, so she is totally at rest now, and probably giving Dad earache by now ;) Mam and Dad had a very rough time before Dad died as the dementia made him very frustrated and he lost his temper a lot, so Mam and my brother took the brunt of it. It was so hard as Dad had always looked after Mam and defended her in his way, but it all changed when he had dementia, when he would have a go at her all the time instead. Was very hard time for us all. So I hope they 'meet' as they were before that, when they were happy together ;)

And now we come to the latest news .................

I have done my left knee in well and truly   I nipped to Curry's to pick up a reserved item and then to Asda to use up my last Alpen vouchers. Struggled with my knee around Asda, using trolley for support. Had to wait quite a while at check-out as they authorised my coupons and standing still aggravates my knee loads, so in lots of pain when I got back to my sister's. When I got out of the car I couldn't put any weight on my left leg at all and was in excruciating pain. Managed to get shopping out of car and threw it inside doorway just by twisting on my right leg but had to ring doorbell for my sister to come and help me. she took the shopping out of the way and I somehow got over step into porch and step into house but took a long time and in agony. Got sat down in kitchen and stayed there for rest of evening, as every time I tried to stand up I couldn't put weight on left leg due to the pain

At home, in my bungalow, no problem, but this is a house with bathroom upstairs so I had to haul myself up the stairs by the bannister. One last step at top on right angle to others and I looked and looked for ages as I didn't know how I was going to manage that one. I put my left foot well forward and hauled myself up by top of bannister and screamed as the back of my knew wrenched and the only way I could get to bedroom was by keeping all my weight on right leg and shuffling right foot backwards and forwards, inching my way over. Sitting on bed and then getting changed was painful but nothing compared to lifting my leg up on to the bed   All I had with me were paracetamol and I had taken those, with two now as I got into bed, and I spent most of the night in agony and a considerable amount of time sitting on edge of bed as I sat up when I pain and couldn't face lifting leg up onto bed again

Sis brought me some drink and a couple of Alpen bars, plus some of her codeine phosphate, so I took one of those with the paracetamol at 6 am and again at 12 noon, but not shifting this pain at all

You haven't heard the best bit yet. My niece's hubby had picked my sis and BiL up at 6.30 for the airport and she had meant to give him her keys but forgot, so I was locked in the house, no-one else had keys and mine were downstairs  About 12.30pm I somehow managed to get down the top couple of steps and then went down the rest on my bum, in a controlled was I hasten to add. Got keys and unlocked front door but this took over half an hour due to only being able to shuffle on good leg. Luckily, my niece, who should have been at work, had to come home early as her youngest was taken sick at school and she came round, and she now has a key

I rang local surgery who refused to prescribe or come out to visit until I went in and completed a temp residency form, and when I again explained that I could not get out of the house never mind get to surgery, their only response was 'here's an appointment for 3.20 but come early to do the form'  My niece even went along and asked for the form to bring home for me to complete but no, they wouldn't allow that either

Anyway, I rang my own surgery back home and asked for a telephone appointment and my doc has just rang me back. He was astonished at what the surgery up here had said and stressed that I must see a doctor, but is faxing a prescription through to local chemist for anti-inflammatories, anti-nausea tablets and tramadol, so my niece will pick that up for me. Only problem was, I tried to ring the chemist and no answer so they must be closed

My niece did bring me round some Dicofenac tablets she'd had for her bad back so I am going to have to try them tonight and get my own meds tomorrow. Hopefully, I can get some sleep and take the edge off the pain to enable me to get out to see a doc, but not at the surgery I rang today, I will go to the walk-in centre ;) My sister text me this morning from Heathrow to say walk-in centre would be better to go to than her surgery, and all I replied was 'WALK in centre?????' Oh you do have to laugh don't you?

    Edit:

My niece is going round to the chemist now as I checked online and they don't close till 6pm. Hopefully they got the fax ok and she can bring me my meds straight round ...... I am praying they work :(

Thanks Aesop petal. My niece brought my meds around earlier so I took an anti-inflammatory and one stomach tablet, and when I go upstairs shortly I will have one codeine phosphate and one paracetamol. I know I shouldn't but I am having a large whisky and coke zero to help me sleep :o

Going to try to get upstairs after that. My niece took some things up for me earlier and I just need to take my mobile and a couple of emergency Alpen Bars for the morning. I'll have the sandwich that my niece made me later on if I don't sleep. She is working tomorrow but will check in on my by text and come round after work to see how I am
