Not sure if i'm being picky or not...

Correct, i was happy to pay £3.99... however, that £3.99 was broken down into 99p for the item and £3 for the postage. So for paying £3.00 for postage i expect it to arrive wrapped securely. If i'd paid 99p for postage then i wouldn't be expecting so much.0

Listen I will say this once again.
The post office undercharged the seller, it was not her fault, the correct postage should have been at least £2.20 as it was a small packet not a large letter, you are the reason I try and keep away from ebay, by all means moan about the way they pack the item but not the cost, it was her good luck the post office priced it wrong so why should you be given the difference back.
Your lucky Royal mail delivered it :rotfl: as you should have been given a surcharge for incorrect postage, which last time I looked was £1 plus the short fall or if no stamp at all a 2nd class stamp plus £1.
(crap bet you have a go at her for that too now:rotfl:)
Why should i be refunded? Because i was overcharged for a service. I'm sorry do you know the ebayer personally for you to know she's been undercharged? All you're doing is GUESSING she has been undercharged. By the sounds of things you are the type of seller to try and make money off people by charging excess for postage if you're that miffed off with me complaining. I paid £3 for postage, i expect all that £3 to be used in packaging and sending my item and for it to arrive wrapped securely. I shall be contacting the seller and docking her stars. I'm sure if you'd been charged a surcharge for incorrect postage you'd contact the seller, so why shouldn't i contact the seller for charging me too much?0 -

try and fit a skirt or what even it was ,folded or as you say crunched up in an envelope measuring 2.5 by 25 by 35.3cm and you will see it impossible, so she was charged wrong.0 -
It is a bodycon mini skirt, the skirt is thin so could easily be that small. So no, she was not undercharged.0

sorry but your just being daft now, only if this skirt was for barbie could it fit in such a size envelope, with brown paper too as you say, crunched up.
I have given you the answer but clearly you want to moan about this no matter what, sad really.0 -

Sorry but YOU'RE the one reducing to name calling via an internet forum, so no i'm not sad.. you are. If you were overcharged in a shop i'm sure you'd be demanding a refund. Just because it's on ebay doesn't mean i should get ripped off. The parcel could easily fit through a letterbox so it was clearly a large letter. It was thin, barely any wrapping and slipped right through the letter box. I've been charged over double for postage than what it was, it's sellers like this (and like you) that make me hate ebay.0 -
Hello!
Newbie poster here, long time lurker! I'm looking for some advice from you lovely MSE-ers! I recently purchased a skirt on ebay for 99p, the postage was £3, i thought great yep no problem.. paid straight away for it. Just received the skirt in the post today and i am appalled at the packaging!!! The woman has literally just used one bit of brown paper to scrunch around it and i've noticed it only cost her £1.10 to post. Normally i'd be fine with this but because of how badly it was packaged i'm not sure why she's charged nearly £3! Paying £3 for something so light would for me mean she will be packaging it properly and securely in a jiffy bag or mailing bag and not just screwed it up! Unsure as to wether i should send her a message or not, do you think i'm just being picky?
Thanks
xxx
If you were charged £1.10 then the item has gone through as a 2nd class large letter weighing 101-250g.
The seller may have thought the item would be a small packet which would have cost £2.20 to send, so 80p was what she charged for packaging. So really she has only over charged you by £1.10 (£1.10 plus 80p packaging/handling fee's = £1.90)
Why leave poor feedback and trash her stars when she may not have known the item would go through as a large letter?A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -

Because i paid £3 for her to package and post the item. The quality of the packaging wasn't even worth ten pence.0 -

the rule is 25mm for a large letter not fit though a letter box! you have really made yourself look daft now as clearly you should not be let loose on ebay if you don't understand something as simple as that.0 -

I am fully aware of the 25mm measurements, i am telling you that my item fits under that category... or are you that stupid you cannot understand? I have given her a chance to rectify the situation and shall be leaving feedback that i deem appropriate. If she decides to refund me for the extra postage then i will leave her 5 stars for postage as she is clearly genuine, if she does not refund i will leave her a 1. I do not believe in dishonest dealings on ebay, if someone tries to make extra cash out of me then i will complain.0
