Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

There are 3 levels per day with Level 1 being very basic, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

I'm in again this week - thank you juliejim :A

Last week was a bit of a disaster flying wise so am making a concerted effort from tomorrow. I have nothing much planned until Olympic footie on Saturday (followed by a show!) so have decided this week is mega house declutter / sort / clean week so I can get it on the market before the end of the summer holidays.

Right - I've said it now  Will no doubt need kicking by you lot (and numerous HHCs!!) :o

Need to sort a list now .............

    QUOTE]

I'll be here and can help with both. :D

I'm in again this week - thank you for the list, jue. More pottering today and a lot of stuff has been rehomed from the kitchen and a few things from the DR, too.

I went to Lidl for fresh stuff and Asda Living (washing up bowl to keep potatoes in, a small plastic box for cat-related things). By the end of this week I'll hopefully be getting there with the downstairs rooms.

I know we don't normally carry stuff forward, but I'll keep a copy of my list from last week, as some of it will need to be done over the next two weeks and may not appear again.

Time to get my list ready:
Monday - Living Room, Hall & Stairs
Clear the floor or at least a HHC doing this
Hoover any of the floor you can see
Dust any fluffy surfaces: TV + stand, wipe sofas
    Level Three
    Clear and wipe the fireplace
Clear and wipe the windowsill or a shelf
    Wipe telephones
    Extras
HH[STRIKE]Paperwork[/STRIKE]declutter hotspot by door (COD with mail)
    Empty all bins
    HHI

clean interior door, wipe dado rails and skirting

I also want to do more sorting in the DR, so I can close the cellar door again. The light won't be good for the potatoes. :(

Right geeks back and in bed.. Apparently DD3 has been a $h!t at his all weekend.. I said good she has been like it all week, toobigforherbootitus I believe it is called.. she is on her last warning.. any unwelcome behaviour and she will not be going on the trip with church on Wednesday.. and I am so cross I mean it. DS3 has been told if he behaves like he is under 13 at any point he will be on a computer ban for the week which means he won't be taking advantage of DS2 being away he has gob$h!teosis.. this is contagious as heck! and can be fatal.. one backchat too many I might kill him!

I shall go construct myself a listypoo!!.

I would like to join you all this week please. I have read flylady posts on and off for a year but never joined in, but no longer, I figure the only way to have a sparkling house is to give this a go. How long on average does it take before your housework got easier/less consuming and the house looked better? I don't want to start off with unrealistic goals, I think slow and steady will suit me better. I look forward to my 1st week of flying and getting to know you all.
