NiftyDigits - the £2.70 card (link) doesn't state it's suitable for windows 98??
Others available on ebay, but from Hong Kong.
I'll find out about the RAM tomorrow.

Thank you all for the help.

It should be, especially as I've supplied the Drivers for it. Just send an email to the seller, to confirm that it is compatible before purchasing.
You can even call them on the number supplied, to speed things up.
If they say it is and then it turns out that it isn't, they will give you a full refund.
I think that it will be fine, but check anyway.

Actually I just checked their(Safekom) Driver page for that model and the Driver they supply includes these Windows 98 Drivers.
So it would be bizarre if it didn't support Windows 98. :)

Nifty Digits - I meant that Flash itself will be grossly out of date on Win98, no matter what browser you use, and lots of stuff only works with later versions. Win98 can only take Flash Player 9 according to the Adobe website, and as I said, I don't think Win98 is up to being on the modern internet.

That's really doesn't make any sense at all. The item is based on the Realtek RTL8139D Chipset. There are no Windows 95 Drivers available for that Chipset, only Windows 98 and others. Yet they claim that it is Windows 95 compatible.
Also the Drivers that they supply for the item are Windows 98 Drivers. No Windows 95 Drivers within their package.

Personally, I would go ahead and splash out the £2.70. :)

I won't disagree with you, but if it only costs the OP £2.70 to find out..
But the situation is not as bad as you might imagine

Thanks again, maybe the windows 95 is an error??
Would extra RAM allow an upgrade to XP??
I'll not do anything until tomorrow when I find out about the extra RAM.

    Lol

Strange how they appear to be the same things but different sellers state different operating systems and for some reason leave out 98!!
    Sort it tomorrow ................ hopefully.

how do you print coupons off now?

Is that the only thing you want this machine for, printing off a coupon now and again?

Xp, more ram, network card, bigger hd, all adds up in money and time terms.

I'm guessing the OP may have access to some of these things at no cost.
We have already ascertained that it is not worth the spending of more than single digits in total.
More of a fun project than anything else.
