for wireless to work, you need windows98 drivers, and supplicant software to enable wpa or wpa2 encryption, assuming you aren't still using wep on your router, not worth the hassle imo, when you can get an xp machine for £30 or less.

    So forget about XP then.

If it is working as it is, then the Wireless or Ethernet card should be as much as you should spend on it. Will be painfully slow though. :)

Thanks for all the quick help Guys, it really is very much appreciated.
I might go for the £6 option and if it's no good I could probably sell the monitor for £10 and recoup losses.

    Thank to all replies. :T

Why do you think think this is the case?

The OP can use some older versions of modern browsers, such as Firefox 2, Opera 9 etc.

Everyone is taking the integrity of the parts for granted. Have you started this thing up yet?

I wouldn't bother with the wireless if it is running 98 as getting the drivers without the internet would be a pain. (It wont come preloaded like it would [might] with XP).

All things failing, you can pick up 2nd hand systems on xp for £50. hell, i'll be able to sort one out for that.
