How can you live with someone and own a house and car etc, but be worried about looking like an idiot infront of them? For asking a question? I dont get how you even had time to think about it, and post on here, and werent blurting it out ages ago?

Because surely as soon as you stopped using contraception that was because you wanted a child otherwise why else would you, and surely the subject of pregnancy would have come up when you told her to go to the docs if she was being sick? And surely when she came back she would have told you what the nurse had said. At least in a normal world..

This is one of the weirdest posts I have ever read!

It took me weeks to fess up to OH with my 2 youngest. I'm just not good with those conversations :rotfl:

Doesn't mean we have a bad relationship, just that I'm a bit weird :o although if I'd had obvious symptoms like that he'd have bought me a pregnancy test. Goodness knows we have enough kids between us for him to make a good guess. Maybe the OPs gf is the same. At least he's happy about it!

So.....you didn't want a child and you went ahead and didn't bother using protection?

Erm.....WHY????? Did you think you were both somehow exempt from the laws of nature?

Oh....and try asking her? !!!!!!....if you can't even ask your girlfriend if she's pregnant, how the hell do you think you're going to cope with Fatherhood?
I understand what OP means as I was just the same.
I never actively tried to have a child and had I been asked if I wanted one, I would have said "no". Thats because I was perfectly happy without one.
That's not to say though when pregnancy occured that it was unwanted, and my daughter was the best thing that ever happened to me as it turned out. I know she loves me to bits as well. :)

I think he needs to chat with her, absolutely. the stress of worrying what he will think won't be doing her or the baby any good!

OP, I can see why you're getting consternated with some of the replies you've received, but the posters mean well. In answer to your question (and being as definitive as anyone can be without being your partner's GP) yes, she's pregnant. Hopefully now you'll be able to tell her your true feelings about the pregnancy and explore the reasons why you've not discussed it before. Do you think she may be concerned about possibly losing it or unsure of her own feelings towards it? You've hinted that you may both not be the youngest people considering parenthood, could this be a factor? Please talk to her :grouphug:

I bet this lady is worried about telling him and hoping he'll guess.... She could be really anxious about his response. Either that or she's spelling out that she really is ready even if he his isn't.
