Had a bit of a spendy day...this weeks spends have been well and truly spent:o Dd1 and I went shopping, were there nice and early before it got too busy. Bought her boots that are for Xmas, the kind lady in topsh0p went off and got me a 15% off voucher, so saved me £10 - very pleased:) Then bought dd2 some denim shorts, marked at £22.99 and went thro till at £12.99:beer: £50-ish later in pr1mark...lots of basic long sleeved tops for us, cardi for work, socks, scarf, gloves etc. A lot for the money I guess, though £50 sounds lots:o
We did only buy 2 pasties for our lunch - £2:)
I had a moment of madness half an hour ago and was contemplating ringing for a takeaway...then I saw sense and have put some mince on for tacos, much cheaper;)
Food shopping came to £61 yesterday. Poles, how do you do it on £40 a week?! I am sure I could keep ours down, but I never manage to:o I'd probably have spent at least £5 less thou, had dd1 not come with me.
I haven't bought any pressies for girls for their stockings, arghhhh, I need to get a move on. I just hate going shopping on my own, so never get the chance to buy bits for them. I did sneak 2 shiny lip balms past dd in town today, so ive made a start;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Sounds like a good spend and lots of value for money
Well done on not ringing for a takeaway! It's so easily done...
Our food shop comes in at £40 because there's only 2 of us. Also we seem to have less evening meals now - twice a week we're at my mum and dad's and on Monday's dd is there again because she goes to brownies that night. It cuts down on quite a lot. I do meal plan and go with a list too. Also I have to be very disciplined because I really enjoy food shopping and could so easily spend loads moreIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Another year will go by and I don't get to your Christmas market! Fancied going last weekend but the weather put me off; today both boys did a x-country run at Blaize, tomorrow we're going to a certain retail outlet down the m/way and we're busy next weekend. Oh well, there's always next year....0

We didn't go either dangers;)
It finishes today I think...we were going to nip in this afternoon but it'll be so busy, I just can't be bothered:oI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Afternoon:)
Not much planned for today. I'm going to scoot to arg0s soon and get a couple of underbed storage boxes, one for dd2 and one for me. At the moment my jumpers are all piled on the floor as I have no drawers:( dd2 has drawers but they're full and as she and dd1 are swapping chest of drawers and youngest getting a smaller set, I thought an underbed box perfect for jumpers/sweatshirts etc.
I keep meaning to go to Ik£a for a 3rd set of their lovely drawers, but its a bit of a trek so keep putting it off:o Been living here 6months and I've not done it yet:rotfl: My undies live in the Ik£a drawer compartment thingies, sat on the bottom shelf of a wonky unit and my jumpers all in a pile on the floor....my rooms always the last to get sorted.
I'm doing roast chicken for later with all the extras, leftover meat will go in a pasta bake on Tuesday. Hopefully ex is having girls wed evening - he's been taking them out to eat but I told him that's a lot of money, fish and chips at his mums would be much cheaper;) So that'll be a night off cooking for me:T I'm happy with soup/something on toast etcI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Grrrrrr:mad:
The whole chicken that I bought in T's on Friday evening was out of date yesterday:mad: It wasn't in the reduced section, so I've just emailed them to have a moan. I know they're not going to have a long life but I assumed a chicken bought on Friday would still be fresh on Sunday, grrrr.
So not sure whether to go buy another or have something else. All other meats in the freezer through, so I'd have to defrost in the microwave which I don't like doing. Bl00dy annoying. Girls have been arguing too so I've sent them both out of my sight and I'm in a bad mood;)
Think I'll have a cuppa and sit and watch Fridays emmerdale:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
I have another chicken;) Cheaper in co-op, £3. It's in the oven and the potatoes and veg are all ready and in pans. Just having 5mins on here with a ham roll, late lunch, then going to dust/hoover down here then up the stairs and my room.
I haven't gone to arg0s for the drawers - girls still holed up in their rooms so I have no inclination to swap their drawers and tidy their rooms:o And even less inclination to put the tree up...that can wait til next weekend.
I'm just not feeling any enthusiasm for Xmas whatsoever:( it's going to be so quiet, only seeing my mum and stepdad. I have nothing else planned, no one else to see, feeling quite sad about it. I know I need to make it lovely for the girls, but I just feel bad that we have such a quiet time. This year more so as my sis and I aren't speaking so we won't see them, my girls will miss their cousins.
Anyway, must go and get on with the housework:)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Oh no sorry to hear about you and your sis
.
Our xmas is usually quite quiet and we'll go to my mum and dad's and stay there a couple of nights. My sister is going to stay with friends so it will be even quieter than usual.
Thanks for mentioning underbed drawers - I really need to get things sorted in my room. I don't have a chest of drawers either - just shelves in the wardrobe and wicker boxes undies..It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
T£sco replied to my email about the chicken and were very apologetic....lots of excuses though;) But they sent me a gift voucher for the £3.50 it cost me:T
Grocery account is down to £31:eek: I think I've bought a few bits that weren't groceries and not transferred the money to cover them - a few toiletries, that the grocery account can't cope with paying for:D So, as my spends account is struggling at the mo due to pressie buying, i shall attempt to manage til Thurs on the £31 plus I have the £3.50 gift card. I reckon we can do it but there will be no buying Xmas treats to stash:o
I've spent a fair bit this week on pressies for the girls - I've been dreadful this year and not been buying early, why have I left it this late?! The phone arrived for dd2...then she decided she doesn't want one yet, so it's been returned...fickle eh:)
They're with their dad until later on today so I'm rushing about tidying up, putting decorations up etc. The tree went up yesterday afternoon...but we have coloured lights and I want clear...but will not be daft and splash out on more...we'll live with it!
I have a load of washing on the line in the sun and another to go out now. The letting agent are doing a check on Tues so the place needs to be cleaned and tidied.
Dominos sent me a 50% code so going to treat the girls tonight:o I'll have a pizza that's in the freezer, taking up too much room. Saturday with no cooking, worth it:) I must make a meal plan for the week, using what we have in the freezer/cupboards.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Nice quiet weekend in the end:)
Not done anything today - read my book on the sofa, had a doze and cooked a lasagne for dinner. I was too lazy to go food shopping, just nipped to the local shop for milk as girls used all of ours up with hot chocolates.
Just ordered a cd for my mum and one for dd2 for Xmas - shopped about and Sainbugs were the cheapest by far - £15 for both, Amazon had them at £10 each:D
2 weeks left of work...and these 2 weeks are nice, filled with fun things and lots of practising for the Xmas production. I so love working in a primary school at this time of year. I still get a bit of the fun of little children, nice when I have 2 teens at home;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0
