Are your hours pro-rata over the year? This might be where the difference is - when you did a one off, you were paid for that, but now you are on a contract, they cover it right across the year. That's how ours works.

    Hi dangers,
Yes good point - we do work pro rata so yes spread over the year. I hadn't thought of that:o
Mind you, that still doesn't change the fact that I don't take home much more now.

In fact-I just went thro entitledto.com and the figures show that if I don't work dinners I am actually slightly better off- it's ridiculous, I want to work more and earn more:o

This is a no-brainer for me - get a decent lunch time and be slightly better off.

Glad you're back :) I was getting worried about you..
It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :j
    Happiness is not a destination - it's a journey :)
  • Is it easy for you to resign from the lunch times? If so and it wouldn't cause any problems for work I would have your lunch time and be better off.

    Thanks for the replies ladies:A
I am going to ask to finish working lunchtimes - I asked to speak to my boss today but she was busy when I was free so she said to catch her in the morning. I feel bad for stopping, but as poles said - it's a no brainer if I'm worse off doing it...plus having a lunch break again would be good:D Working at lunchtime can impact on mt TA role I find - I rush off as soon as the morning session is finished, so hardly get time to chat to my teacher and I miss the 1st part of the afternoon as I'm having my lunch. I took on the role for the extra money, but if that's not there then there's no point.

My afternoon was brightened up when I saw that TCB had my £95 from moving broadband over to sky as payable - so that's on it's way now:beer: Perfect timing with Christmas on the horizon.

I need a few bits of groceries tomorrow - shouldn't be more than £10. My bank account can't wait for my tax credits on Thursday;) I hardly have any petrol but am hanging on so as not to use the last few pounds in my spends account this week.

Anyway, dinner nearly ready - just spag bol. Heating is off for the evening now, not as cold tonight. Early night sounds good:)

Definitely a no brainer then Pixie. Personally I'd prefer you to have a better rest in the day for lunch.

I am going to look into starting up the OU again this week. I want to email them as I'd love to do the business degree with specialism in accountancy. However completing my AAT hopefully would allow me to not need to do the specified accounts course! I'll let you know how I get on!

Good luck with talking to your boss xx

Nothing exciting to report for today. Nipped to T's and spent £13...I did treat myself to a sandwich - a treat on my afternoon off ;) So an extra £2, but it was yummy. Easily pleased, me:)

Girls have just gone out for dinner with their dad..he's working most weekends now so has been seeing them mid week instead. Lovely- saves me cooking, though I might rustle up a risotto for myself soon.

Just parcelling up some N£xt returns that are being collected. I'm dithering over buying a couple of bits from as0s right now - dd1 loves their very skinny jeans and I have a 25% off code valid today...so they'd be £21 which is a bargain considering other Topsh0p jeans she loves are £36. I might buy her2 pairs and keep one for Christmas. Also found some Blowf1sh boots for me, reduced to £40 then the code works on them too....I need black boots, only have tan ones and light beige suede ones..hmmmmm.

My boss wasn't in today so couldn't talk about lunches....will try again tomorrow:D

I managed to get to speak to my boss at last - she was absolutely fine with me stopping working at lunchtimes. I said I'll carry on until they find someone to replace me - hopefully not too long then I get my break back again;)

Today should be an NSD - I'm not going to any shops now. I hate Thursdays as I have to drive back to where we used to live, and where I still work, as girls have their gym club tonight. It's only 5m away, just annoying driving home from work, then back at half 5 and back again and half 6:o I keep checking rightm0ve for a lovely house in that village in our price range, 3 beds...but nothing:( we'd all love to move back there.

I got my official letter from the uni saying im un-registered now:) They sent me a list of the credits I earned rough the course, and apparently I also gained a CertHE....whatever that may be:rotfl: The certificate is on its way. Bett than nowt I guess;)
