I agree. It amazes me when people look at their bank account and think that is what they have left. I've always got stuff that is going to come out half way through the month so I know that what the bank says is never accurate. Surely it's better to take all debits into account at the beginning of the month so you know where you are. Or maybe that's just me (and a few others on here) !!

Me too .... although I do it slightly differently in that as soon as I'm paid I transfer a set amount to my Bills account where all my d/debits come out of - I never touch this account for anything else!

  • Ahhhhhh I am absolutely exhausted:o I had a restless night last night, no reason why, just couldn't settle, and a very busy day at work. We had our class party this afternoon so it was very exciting...and noisy:D On the money saving side, I nibbled enough sausage rolls, crisps etc to not want to eat a thing tonight;)

I dozed for 20min on the sofa at around 5, watched tv and hauled myself up to get a spag bol cooking for girls. Mind you, dd2 has now fallen asleep....roll on Friday, we are all in need of a rest.

No spends today, straight home from work and not gone back out. Tomorrow I need to post my best pals pressies and a few cards - I do this every single year, post on the last possible day:rotfl: I'll never learn! Also an amazon sale to post - will make me around £2;)

I finish at 12.30 tomorrow, bliss. Going to my friends for a cuppa then will do the PO.

Ok, best go check on girls' dinner. Hope everyone having a good week:A

  • Phew, Christmas hols are here:j

We had a lovely quiet day yesterday, was much needed. Dd2 and I wrapped the family pressies while dd1 was out in town doing some shopping then having a birthday meal with friends. I spent £10 in co-op on some curries, coke, huge multipack of crisps, milk and iced buns.

Girls are eating at their dads later today so saves me cooking;) I've just put some mince from the freezer into the fridge to defrost for tomorrow - will do cottage pie. We aren't home on tues or wed so no meals to plan for then. Then on Thursday ill have tax credits again and the grocery account will be back to full quota:D

Spending account has about £75 in. Ex gave me £80 he owed me for buying a couple of pressies he's giving girls - he's useless. Girls and I are going into town today to find dd2 a pressie from her dad and buy a last couple of gifts. Then tomorrow ex's sis, girls' auntie, is taking them to the cinema. I just need to get all of girls stuff wrapped which I might do later on while they're having dinner at ex's.

I need to get petrol too...might drive to tesco later on.

I have to buy a new pukka pad notebook in town...ready to get organised for the new year, exciting:) I always enjoy setting up my new book with various sections, getting back to mse-ness aft the recent spends:T

  • Hooray, all pressies bought:beer:

Dd2 is just wrapping the rest of her dads stuff and there's a few family bits to finish wrapping. I managed to get girls stocking things wrapped earlier, just the rest to do tomorrow which I'll do while they're at the cinema. I was tempted to stay in town while they're there and mooch round the few sales I saw that are on...but no, nothing I need, we'll all 3 of us gone next week sometime. Dd2 is getting money from her dad as she couldn't choose something today so sale shopping it is:D

£30 petrol in today, just £12 from the spends account spent in town, I used the cash ex had given me for the rest of the pressies we had to get.

Got my new notebook - I had a £4 pukka pad ready to buy, them found a whs own brand notebook which was a pretty pattern but only 99p:beer: I like the notebooks with dividers in, sections for all my various things;)

Going into town with ex had a couple of plus points....he paid for parking and he bought us a drink in coffee shop:D girls took it in turns to go off with him and get my pressies and I got them to also choose him a pressie each. All sorted, I can relax now:D

    Morning all:beer:
Well, that's Christmas all done and dusted...not too sorry to see then end of it if I'm honest:rotfl: We did have a lovely, restful time at my Mums and came home on the 27th. I took girls to their dads that evening and they'll be back later. I did meet dd1 yesterday and go shopping - what a rubbish shopping trip though:o She bought a denim jacket and all I bought was jeans in N£xt (£20, not in sale) and sale slippers - but they're faulty so will be going back soon.

I did nip out after and buy a saucepan set for £22 in Arg0s...I have been managing with just 1 tiny pan, I large one and one very kn@ckered one. The last set of pans I got were as a wedding present, in 2001:rotfl: And only 1 is still going, so about time I bought some. I did get dd2 a duvet cover for £5 but haven't washed it yet as not sure she'll like it.

The house needs a good going over, I have been too lazy and not really done much apart from hoovering round:o My mum is coming tomorrow so there's an incentive to get busy:rotfl:

I need to find a bit of oomph for new year planning:o I have my notebook ready, so must get it started. I've been very uninspired though, full of 'cant be bothered-ness' so need to shake it off...give myself a kick up the rear end:D
