Could be RSI. I have that - caused by years of repetative movements suce as typing, playing musical instruments etc.

160 - I'll try your deep breathing as I'm getting very painful leg cramps recently. Probably age related but far worse than anything I've had before. The first time I really thought I had thrombosis! I'm not really a hypochondriac!!!! :-/ :-/
  • another crazy sounding suggestion.... my granny used to drink tonic water for cramp, the qunine in it eases muscle spazams! sounds mad but it works!

never heard of the tonic water, might give that bash, sure theres a bottle in back of the cupboard left from last xmas. had it again last night, breathing worked, but does the tonic water prevent it or ease it.

Can I put gin with the tonic water?? Probably would make me even more relaxes. Better not keep it by the bed though!

    ohhh not had a g & t for ages!!!
  • i donno if tonic prevents or eases, but quinine reduces the tension or it reduces the inflamation in the muscles if u put uses of quinine into a serch engine, that might help.

    thanks macchicken
  • Pretty sure you have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. A trapped nerve in the wrist.
See your GP for blood tests to find a cause. You may need a referral for Nerve Conducion studies and maybe surgery if things persist.
  • This might be a bit odd, but when I reported similar symptoms to the dr she said it could be due to not enough salt! I know the press are going on about too much salt, but if you cook real food rather than processed food its easy to leave out the salt.

Another one for those who get cramp in their legs, put a cork in the bottom of the bed! Don't know how it works but it does!
    Smile it confuses people!
