Obviously been smoking the same stuff as Danny Boyle eh?

How far is your local hospital Philly boy? have any kids? I do and if God forbid they have an accident currently they will be in hospital in 10 minutes. When its closed it will take 40 minutes and that I am sure a genius like you can see will shorten their chances of surviving. Amazingly, I care more about my families wellbeing than impressing foreign television viewers.

But the reason your local hospital is closing is not the fault of the NHS. It's the fault of this Government that not a single person in this country voted for who put bankers bonuses above public services.

oh wow. So the rest of the UK really shouldn't have been contributing their taxes to pay for it, only Londoners........
Yes, I saw the children singing and did not think that was much of a token gesture at recognising that "GB" does not consist of London alone..........

As I said, there were a few good bits, some of it, though parts seemed a bit boring and shambolic. Absolutely loved Bond, the Queen and Mr Bean though, that was genius.

It was sometimes brilliant, sometimes odd, sometimes hillarious (not always intentionally).

There was a great imagery, but sometimes the dancing was very peculiar, in that, during the industrial revolution bit, people would do quick bouts of dancing, then just stop, like they forgot what they were doing.

My only real complaint was how the 80s era of music was totally glossed over, and not even ONE hint of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. No black sabbath, Maiden, Priest, Diamondhead, Saxon....nothing. Ho hum, at least Dizzee Rascal got to stink up the joint.

People did vote for them!! MPs don't get sent here on spaceships. And in the absence of a clear winning party a coalition was the only option. Would you have preferred a government consisting of labour, green and nationalist MPs?

    .

Incorrect. The Games were given to GB.

London is simply the host city of the host nation, and it is the nation that competes, not London.

Which is why events are spread out throughout the nation.

Oh I so agree with you. Apart from the opening which clearly identified all countries not just through children singing but sporting clips of rugby, apart from the Industrial Revolution which happened all over the land and Brunel who was born in Portsmouth, apart from World Wars which involved soldiers from all over the country, apart from the Arctic Monkeys from Sheffield, and Macca from Liverpool, apart from the NHS which was the brainchild of Welshman Aneurin Bevin it was all about London. As for mentioning Londoner Tim Berners Lee, what a disgrace. What has the world wide web ever done for those outside London?
