Road Rage - not my fault... I think!

pacific - yes I did read your post, which stated that you're overtaking, and I agree that me saying floating could have meant on your own - sorry.
What I meant was that if you overtake someone, they're doing 59mph and you're doing 61mph, I was calling that floating, and if someone flies up behind you at a whopping 70, you should consider completing the overtake more quickly, or cancelling it and pulling in behind. Or maybe you didn't look behind you properly or just the speed of the traffic behind correctly.
And no, I'm not defending tailgating.
:rotfl: Love it....
Where did you get that from? How on earth did you manage to jump to the conclusion that I like to go around overtaking at 2mph faster than someone?!?
It's fantastic - for the sake of being contrary you're actually making up imaginary situations...0 -

I've owned the car for the past 5 years and my insurance has skyrocketed because of young hooligans!I had parked up in a hospital car park, and on returning to my car found a woman in a large 4x4 had parked out of a space, making it impossible for me to drive forward out of my parking space (I had reverse parked). Luckily she was still with her car, so I asked her to move so I could leave the car park. She condesendingly replied "you can get that little car of yours out of that space". I drive a Clio.
I offered her my keys, and suggested that she drove my car out of the space, to which she replied, "I can't do that, I'll end up denting my car"???????
She then moved her car 10 yards so I could leave, and then she got a real parking space.
Well don't drive such a silly little car.
Just this afternoon I came home to find a note under my wiper saying something like 'parking here is difficult, you've taken 2 spaces, use your head next time.' Of course, I backed right up to the car behind which since moved. Sigh. I often look at the road and wish a tractor could come along and nudge the entire row closer together!0 -
lol, what makes you say that?
Maybe Prince William is a well behaved young man, but I tihnk the post you quoted was referring to the general public. He's right. You really can't deny that the UK is full of very very anti-social, rough people, and it's not a particularly nice place to live.
Try Canada or France.
Personally, i'd love the live in America. Lived there for a short time and the people are as friendly and polite as anything. Almost overly-so in some states.
WRONG!!!
There are a small minority of anti-social, rude, ignorant people who spoil it for the rest of us. You will also find that there is a bigger concentration of these people in large towns and citys. In more rural areas people tend to be far more friendly.0 -

"They all do that sir", you can't post in this section of the forum without a vivid imagination, and the lapse of memory that allows to believe it's true.:A:A:A:A:A:AI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

To be fair, that post was an "if you are" not a "you are".
I think the reason why things like that get posted is you find that if someone is complaining about a greater than average level of road rage incidents it can sometimes be the case that they may be doing something inconsiderate that is winding folk up.
It's usually not something illegal and I agree that the resultant reactions shouldn't happen, but people's reactions are out of your control and if the goal is to reduce the frequency of these events then it might be worth looking at your own driving as that is something you can control.
Also bear in mind that as you're busy intentionally winding up and delaying the tailgater you are also inconveniencing (and possibly winding up) everybody who is patiently queuing behind the tailgater, people who have done you no wrong.0 -
pacific4130 wrote: »Perfect example is tailgaters.... When someone is really aggressive and nearly ramming me off the road on a dual-carriageway or motorway, funnily my speed suddenly matches that of the inside car - for several miles. Ha ha!
Only objection I'd have to that is if there were a queue of traffic behind the tailgater ... it's not their fault the driver behind you is an !!!! and there could even be an unmarked police car trying to get somewhere amongst the queue.
If he's on his own, go for your life... but watch out for the poor sod to your left approaching a truck.0 -
pacific4130 wrote: »I think I quite clearly implied that I slow down to match the inside car when some aggressive tw*t thinks they can force me to overtake even faster by hanging 6" off my bumper.
Don't let that get in the way of you being contrary though...
I love to sit in the fast lane with the sat-nav telling me I'm doing 69 (speedo says about 72?!) with something aggressive sitting up my backside! (I've got a sporty-looking MPV with 200bhp, so it don't hang about!)
They pretty quickly back off!
Oh had a lovely chap in Tescos car park the other week, who impatiently sat there while we loaded 20 boxes of Smirnoff, JD, Becks bottles and Martini and £800 of food into 2 cars (we own a bar/restaurant), then put his car so that he thought she couldn't get out, to the right of me, telling her that foreigners driving nice cars (She's got a Jag XF with a fancy playe) annoy him......She did, and first time!

pacific - it was only an example (yes, that I made up) - if you read again my post does say 'if'. Thanks for spotting that little word Lum.
The point of my posting being that intentionally holding people up is generally a bad idea.0 -

.
Give that man a cigar, :T:T:T
That's the issue here, everyone has been a victim of some form of road rage, some times you know why, say you've made a mistake, left to small a gap etc etc etc, and sometimes you don't.
You have an idiot that is late, just got fired fell out with his girlfriend ad infinitum.
BUT if it happens often, you really have to ask yourself 2 qusetions.
Why do I attract these winkers??
Is it me???;)

Both have rechargeable batteries, You put an SD memory card in and they loop record in 15 minutes segments, then overwrite the oldest file, so you dont have to worry about the card getting full. They also have infrared light which come son automatically. Search ebay for "dashboard camera"
Absolutely brilliant devices!!
WOW......Please god don't ever make guns legal in the UK :eek:0
