It is very much like Insurance.

When we buy, we want the cheapest.

When we need it, we want the best.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

200 quid might be stretching a bit for me. Do you leave it in your car overnight?

Update on this, my brothers insurance company have started court proceedings against the other driver. The other driver has a witness who states.

    1) What happened?
The man in the car at the back drove into the back of the car in front.

    2) What speed was the car doing at the time of impact?
    I don't know I didn't see that happen.

    3) Do you know any of the drivers?
Yes she is one of my customers.

    Should be fun in court.

Excellent. Hope she gets !!!!ed over good and proper in court for being a lying twatbag. :money:

I do but the car is garaged overnight. It can be removed quickly and easily.

Mounted on the windscreen behind the interior mirror.

Very unobtrusive and you have to point it out to people if you tell them about it.

This is the one I purchased for my car the best £20 I have spent...

I got one of these (different seller but still Hong Kong based) but the battery lasts about 5 seconds before the units switches off. The cigarette lighter plug is poor quality and doesn't always make a contact when in the car.

How long have you had yours and are there any issues with it?

Definately worth having a dashcam if you've got the money. Mine cost £35 from Hong Kong and records GPS data (speed & positioning) as well as auto sensing shocks, and saving the file from being overwritten.

Stuck a 32GB card in it and it records a whole week of my 35 mile each way commute.

Watch this old fella almost hit my near side today (cuts in on the left)...

  • I got a £20 one from 7day shop after recommended by someone on here. I was doing a three point turn and some idiot turned on to the road and just carried on for approx 3 lamposts in distance and drove into me.

Needless to say without it I would have no evidence whatsover. They claimed it was all my fault, I ask for the written statements of their understanding and then provided the video evidence which completely showed they were talking rubbish. Currently in negotiation, may end up with a 50/50 which i am strongly resisting but without the DVR I would have on chance of a fight.

Following this I upgraded to a smaller better quality unit that is hardwired into igition, but still easily removable, although it is subtle enough to not be too visible.

If i could I would have them on the side facing forwards and backwards (2 each side) as there are just too many idiots who will not take responsibility for their actions.
